BlackBerry Storm 2 (Verizon Wireless)

19 September 2010
  • Summary: The RIM BlackBerry Storm 2 brings some welcome additions, such as Wi-Fi, updated software, and a better touch interface, but it's going to face some serious competition from Verizon's upcoming touch-screen smartphones.
  • Pros: The RIM BlackBerry Storm 2 adds Wi-Fi, more memory, and an updated operating system that brings a number of feature and user interface enhancements. The revamped SurePress touch screen allows for more precision, key rollover, and limited multitouch capabilities.
  • Cons: BlackBerry browser isn't on par with the competition. While improved, the touch screen still takes some acclimation.

BlackBerry Storm2 9550 (Verizon)

PC Magazine
17 April 2010
  • Conclusion: The second time's the charm for RIM's innovative click-screen smartphone; the Storm2 cures almost all of the original's ills.
  • Pros: Vastly improved touch screen. Wi-Fi. True world phone. Powerful messaging and multimedia support.
  • Cons: Browser doesn't live up to the screen's potential. Touch still feels grafted on at times. Still a bit buggy (though nowhere near as bad as the first Storm).

27 October 2009
  • Conclusion: Take two of the Storm is the real deal: the touch screen works well, the phone has more memory, a new OS and is altogether stable and less buggy than the original Storm. The large screen is a rare treat for the mainly QWERTY BlackBerry line and it makes web browsing, video playback and working with MS Office documents a pleasure.
  • Pros: Large display is easy on the eyes, SurePress much improved.
  • Cons: Still no reason for the moving display.

BlackBerry Storm 2 9550

10 July 2011
