Summary: Not so great on looks.. rather clumsy design. Many features missing and one needs a prepaid account. However, it functions ok. Rather highly priced and if its not the Blackberry label you are looking for, I am sure you could buy a more satisfactory phone Media player with audio and video playback in a variety of formats very useful
Summary: Great phone with so many options clearly marked by icons. Love the bluetooth capability and really clear resolution of pics, even at 2.0 MP and one click access button on side. Its sleek and thin and shiney. However, the QWERTY pad is too small for my big hands and makes texting slower and I ended up replacing with a BB Curve. I even picked this up for only $15 used on Amazon.com.
Excerpt: Well, its been along time since I had this phone. The phone takes good 2.0 megapixel pictures. The camer a settings are sparse. Web browsing isnt the best, but it gets the job done. The SureType QWERTY keybaord might not be for everyone. It took me 3 days to get the hang of it. The keys are raised above the surface. They have a nice shape to them. The phone is made of plastic. The screen is nice and vibrant. You can customize the phone too.
Summary: BlackBerry's are the absolute perfect phone for someone on the go. This one is okay. I suggest getting some serious memory if you plan to run any applications or else the phone will run suuuper slowly. I have 4GB of memory and have my personal email, facebook, eBay, weather, news, and pictures. Hopefully that can kind of give you an idea of how much memory to purchase. Other than that, it's a good phone.
Excerpt: I have owned the Blackberry Pearl for almost a year. I've found that there are very few problems unless I caused them myself, ie: water damage, dropping the phone, etc. I was told from the very beginning that you had to baby the track ball-- so I did. I was also told that I would need an external memory card so that I wouldn't not recieve text messages. Also something I was prepared to purchase.
Excerpt: When I originally got this phone, I suffered with feelings of phone-inadequacy, since the Pearl is by far the smallest in the Blackberry lineup. After countless nights wondering whether I'd inadvertently purchased a girl-phone, I saw several guys on "The Unit" carrying this phone...problem solved. Aside from the small feel, this is a pretty solid little phone.
Excerpt: this phone is the best when you first get it!! but then after a week and a half, it slows down. my phone started freezing, and at one point in time, it wouldnt show me my pictures or songs on my phone, from my memory card but the pictures and songs came up when i plugged it into my computer!! one day my friend was playing with the trackball and it came out and fell in a sewer, that was my fault and his, but there is no backup if you loose the trackball..
Pros: -great features, -great design, -receive messages fast, -music player is crystal clear! (i love music), -camera is good for a phone, -trackball speed is adjustable
Cons: -no trackball, no usage, -microphone picks up loud noise, even when there is no loud noise, -echo often, thats all i can think of
Excerpt: I would def. recommend this phone to the people who are intrested in buying it. It's a small phone, but it has SO many fun features-I can't stop playing with it! It does tend to freeze up here and there . . & it can be a little slow too, but you just be patient w. it. If anything else, I do tend to find myself charging the battery at the end of every day (no a big deal though.
Excerpt: This was the first smartphone that I jumped to. It was a huge upgrade from a previous phone that I owned. Over all, this phone has a lot of great options. Pro's: - Screen quality is great. - Keyboard is easy to use, once you get a hang of it. - Phone's OS is easy to operate. - Love the zoom and the flash with the camera - Comes in a few colors. - Fits great in my hand. - The BB email works great.
