  • Excerpt: The Blackberry is very pretty to look at.  But here are some downs to it:  1)  It has slow internet 2)  The trackball gets stuck and accidently you press something you didn't mean to 3)  Sometimes the call will drop and you still have several bars.  I am with At&t and I got the phone for free through the website Wirefly.  It has a classy look to it and the color is good.  I use the Blackberry 8100 mostly for its calender.  It helps remind me of an appointment I have.

  • Excerpt: I bought this phone for my husband and myself for business and personal use...big mistake.  The RIM Blackberry Pearl 8100 is an expensive, difficult, faulty, and highly overrated cellular device.  I would never recommend the the Blackberry Pearl to anybody.  From the first use, this phone has had issues with freezing up, shutting itself off for no apparent reason, and SIM card errors that can only be corrected by turning the phone off then back on and crossing your...

  • Excerpt: Prepare not to be impressed by this Blackberry Pearl phone. I have been overall disappointed in my Pearl's performance. There are a few pros: the camera has a flash, and the picture quality is good. The speaker performs well and sound quality is great. I can search the internet and look up phone numbers to directly dial simply by clicking on their links. The phone is small enough to fit in my pocket. The cons outnumber the pros, sadly. The internet speed is very slow.

  • Excerpt: Although I don't maximize all of the features, it's overall a nice phone. The only problem is that it locks up and I have to take the battery out, etc. My cheapy phones seem to never have problems functioning.

  • Excerpt: I had this phone for a year and enjoyed it for the most part while I had it.  It has a nce clear picture when you are on the internet although, it is small.  The internet was realtively fast and extremely accurate on this phone. I loved the QWERTY keyboard that was on it although, if you needed to call 1800-ABC-DEFG, you had no idea which numbers to push.  That was a little tricky at times.

  • Excerpt: My husband decided to change our carrier about two years ago to T-mobile, which is how i ended up with the Blackberry Pearl 8100.  At the time it was the cool new phone to have.  I would have been happy with my old one. lol  It took a little getting used to at first, since navigating is way different depending on the phone.  There is a handy tutorial right on the phone, which helps you with shortcuts and commonly asked questions.

Obsessive and fabulous, yet cranky and a few quirks!

  • Excerpt: While I am rarely seperated from my 'Berry, and wonder how life existed without it, there have been a few issues! Occassionaly, either the battery gets low or the processor is full and I get the spinning sand timer or full out screen freeze. Before I installed the 2G memory chip, this happened on a regular enough basis and I literally couldn't get a call processed fast enough from the time I would answer to the time it would have been patched through! Very aggrivating!

Black berry pearl is not the most sturdy of phones!

  • Excerpt: I think the black berry pearl has served me well as a typical phone user.  I don't use it for my work which could be a different story.  The only real complaint i have about this phone is the fact that the parts are easily worn down.  Especially, the pearl itself.  The track ball is not the best of things because without it, the phone basically becomes useless.  And to no surprise, the track ball needed replacement after a year.

  • Excerpt: I bought this phone and was really excited about it until it arrived. I have had to send it back in the few mos. I have had it to get a replacement. Since then I have been a little happier with it. One key thing that needs to be mentioned, if you are planning on taking pictures buy a mini sd card b/c the phone has no memory. Once I had over 5 pictures, my phone kept freezing and wouldn't allow me to see my call log.

Blackberry Pearl: A Smartphone That Often Acts Like a Dunce

  • Excerpt: Other than using my computer, it can safely be said that I'm not much of a tech geek.  For that matter, I don't even own a cell phone.  So, I was a complete novice when it came to trying out my daughter's Blackberry Pearl 8100 Cell Phone . I remember when my daughter first decided to get the Blackberry.  She was excited because it was considered trendy and equipped with the smartest technology available to cell phone users.
