Summary: I ordered 9220,and I was trying to activate my BBM,but I can't. So Icalled Blackberry Customer support, and told me,that the "pin" that I have does not exist! The rep asked me if it has warranty, and it doesn't. So the rep was somehow telling me it's not legit enough. I'm returning it for a full refund, and get the same phone with warranty. Goodluck for me!
Summary: Comparing this with Android. That is a joke... This stone age technology cannot be compared to Android in any manner. I own a Samsung Note and bought this off a store but Note is Way more advanced than any Blackberry fone can ever be. Screen is dull, display is poor. Fonts and interface sucks. The upsides to this fone are : 1. Battery. You can run a train on this. I have to charge my note every day and this can go 5 days without charging sometimes. 2. BBM.
Summary: A "smartphone" with no 3G, outdated App store, below par specs, same old design, and priced at nearly 11K. i really don't see any reason for anyone to buy this,if its for BBM, well there's whatsapp which is cross platform. Since Blackberry is in a free-fall in the US and European markets, they're coming out with so-called "budget" phones in India and trying to sell them with a "its cool to own a Blacberry" tag line.
Summary: Its high time RIM brings something new to the market rather than launching minor updates to their already outdated range. Why would I pay 10k for a 600-800Mhz processor? And BBM fanatics should really try Whatsapp instead. No GPS, low end processor, bad camera and a glossy plastic body. I can get better in other phones in the same price range. The only pro is the good battery life. I would recommend it only for people who hate touchscreens but still want a smartphone.
Summary: If you have bought this device or are thinking about buying it must tell you that both the hardware and the software in this device are poor, there are not much apps and if you are buying this only for BBM then you must know that BBM will come to android and Apple Ios this year if you do not believe me google it or check the igyaan site.
Summary: Currently, it's priced about 2.3K higher than the 8520. The notable changes being 512Mb RAM & Radio. And a dedicated BBM key, if that really matters. On the downside, the screen size has been shrunk & phone looks quite inelegant.
Summary: Blackberry Curve 9220 This phone is just a bit upgraded from BB Curve 8520 1. Upgraded BB OS 7.1 2. A bit better processor 3. Improved battery life This phone is upgraded after years and BB could not create a device up to the mark for today's time. The phone lacks the following things at this price: 1. Camera with flash 2. blackberry World still don't have applications and most of them are paid. 3. No 3G for a Rs 10,000 phone.
Summary: 1 - It does not have 3G. Airtel/Idea/Reliance have reduced prices by 60%. 3G is getting affordable. 2 - BB as a phone is going down. Tons of offices are now replacing BB devices with the the ones that support Active Sync (Android/IOS/Windows) 3 - BB OS 7 is good, but Android is better. 4 - It says phone has Accelerometer, who will want to turn a 2.4 inch screen and why? 5 - Trackpad has issues, both my 8520 and 9300 had issues. 6 - 2MP camera is ridiculous.
