It works...

buyer5665, Amazon
16 July 2013
  • Summary: The only problem I've experienced with the phone is when the battery is running extremely low and needs to be charged the phone will disconnect from the "radio" (mobile carrier). Even after the battery charges you have to go online to figure out how to fix the problem. Until you reconnect to the "radio" you can't call any of your contacts or send text messages.

Blackberry 8530 - has some Gremlins...

TNGurl, Viewpoints
9 September 2012
  • Excerpt: I've had my Blackberry 8530 for about a year. I like the design, it has alot of applications. The biggest thing I wasn't happy about over my old phone was that it doesn't hold a charge as long even staying of the web didn't help the battery last longer. I can usually get a day to a day and a half of life without charging it and without internet use. But I suspect that it's that way for many smart phones.

CHEAP PHONE - STAY AWAY

mgunter93, Phone Arena
25 June 2011
  • Excerpt: My screen went out four times and on the fourth time Sprint refused to replace it. It always locks up and lags. I hate it. It was the biggest disappointment for a phone that I have ever seen. The battery life was decent but it would constant drop calls even if you had signal.
  • Cons: Quality

RIM Blackberry Curve 8530 Review [SPRINT]

Michael G., Phone Arena
16 October 2010
  • Excerpt: DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! I WARN YOU!I upgraded my cell phone in March of 2010. This phone is my first Blackberry and I fell in love with it. The internet browser is slow on both Sprint and Wifi. This phone lags heavily sometimes. It is wears VERY EASILY. I had this phone exactly 7 months and the screen went out, luckily it was still under warranty and got it fixed free of charge.
  • Pros: *Easy To Use, *Full QWERTY Keyboard, *Great Speakerphone, *Operating System, *Super Light, *Threaded SMS Messaging, *Track Pad
  • Cons: *Feels Cheap, *LCD Screen Went Out At Exactly Seven Months, *No Camera Flash, *No Group Contacts, *Poor Battery Life, *Screen/Case Wears Easy, *Slow/Lags, *Wifi doesn't work properly

I don't think I'm keeping it

Kacy, Phone Arena
1 March 2010
  • Excerpt: I had the blackberry curve 8330 and loved it. It had everything I wanted but I had to get a new phone so I got this new curve and figured it would be twice as great. I do love the trackpad. It actually works really well and I don't have any problems with it. I was excited to see it had wifi which was definately a plus but other than that, it had no new features. I was so mad when I noticed it didn't have a flash on the camera! Who even makes a phone now without a flash?
  • Pros: Trackpad, Wifi
  • Cons: No flash!, Battery life
