Excerpt: I hate my blackberry curve! It takes forever to load when turning on. My husband and I have the same phone and it constantly freezes up on us when we try to access one of the apps we have. The phone also has a mind of its own where it changes ring tones and alarm tones on its own! NOt to mention that after a year, my battery has completely died and am getting a hard time about replacing it from my cell phone carrier.
Blackberry Curve 8530 is a step down from previous models
9 September 2012
Excerpt: I wish I had done a better job researching this phone. I had a previous model of the Blackberry Curve and I loved it! It was indestructible, fast, consistent with service and the menu system was easy to use. So when I was looking for a new phone I just upgraded to the newer Blackberry Curve 8530. Big mistake! This phone has the worst battery life; I can't even make it from the beginning of the day to after dinner and I don't use it that often when I'm at work!
Excerpt: I got this phone because it was on sale and my husband needed to upgrade his. We were both beyond disappointed with this phone. There is no flash and a horrible camera. The video capture option is very laggy. The email function has no option to select individual emails for deletion. It is very very complicated to get to the sd card and it does not support wireless backup for your contacts. It decided to erase my ENTIRE contact list with no prompting.
Pros: The slick look is nice, as is the user interface. Overall, it seems almost exactly like the much better Curve 8900! While it takes some getting used to, the optical trackpad is pretty sweet as well.
Cons: The processor is SLOW AS CRAP; those memory-boosting apps do NOTHING to alleviate this. The whole phone just feels cheap and gets banged up VERY easily if dropped! Finally, weak screen resolution and an equally weak camera doom this thing.
Excerpt: My Blackberry Curve 8330 arrived in a box for the 8530, so I am assuming that the 8530 is the updated version of the 8330. I have to say that at first I really liked the phone. However, as I used it more and more, I began to really not like it very much at all. I would also say that getting hold of Blackberry if you have a problem is almost impossible. The cursor often has to be moved several times and does not scroll easily.
Excerpt: I have used Palm phones for years, and when my contract was up, friends encouraged me to go to a BB "you will love it.." I am absolutely NOT happy with the BB Curve. I miss the touch screen of the Palm. I miss the clarity of the Palm camera. Palm has a far more user friendly calendar, and the syncing to my laptop is friendlier, I have only had this phone for 6 months, and already it is having issues with syncing and upgrades.
