Summary: MUTE button is placed between the volume up/down buttons, and there is no spacing between the buttons. This poor location makes it far too easy to inadvertently activate the MUTE feature when you're just trying to change the volume level.
Pros: Nice wide keyboard like the original Bold 9000.
Cons: Audio quality for the person you are calling is low volume, with somewhat muffled treble, making it difficult for the person on the other end to hear what you're saying. The Torch 9800 has much better audio quality. Hard to believe RIM would produce a phone with poor audio quality at this day and age.
Excerpt: Unfortunatelly, this is the worst BB I ever had. First of all they did not have enought technology and skills to create a good battery. Created for business? NO WAY ! If reely I use it, at 15.00 I have 0% battery left. It is scrooling the text and image, without touching it. It is turning off just touching the middle key (under the display). Conclusion, worst expensive gadget that I ever had!
Cons: Poorer voice quality and battery life plus missing the fact that the autofocus was removed seems to contradict "the best Blackberry of all" conclusion when all the user gains is a superior browsing experience over the older models.
Pros: Great keyboard, larger screen with touch capability, nice design.
Cons: No UMA (wifi calling), no mobile hotspot, shorter battery life compared to previous BBs, fixed-focus camera, some software features and apps not working smoothly with BB7, less available apps memory than 9780.
Pros: - Tactile - Best BB Keyboard yet - HD (720 p) Video Recording - 1.2 GHz Processor - Liquid Graphics
Cons: - Very BIG phone (Very Unconvenient to carry around) - bugs (apps, slow, etc.) - OS 7 is no major change from OS 6 - Tactile is not as "fluid" as sellers or video's say - Auto-Focus needs to be on this phone (Pictures tend to not be so...neat)
Summary: Having owned the Bold 9900 for almost two years, and approaching my contract renewal, I have mixed feelings about getting a new phone. Originally I got this for the keyboard (after being disappointed by the touchscreen on two previous phones), the ease of email/texting, and its usability for business users. I wasn't disappointed with any of these elements, but I did (and still do) feel like it should have been capable of so much more.
