BlackBerry Bold 9700 Review: In Depth
5 December 2013
Conclusion: The Bold 9700 feels much more like a consumer product than its predecessors, once you get past all the menus. Sure, it doesn’t yet offer the range of apps and the media features aren’t as honed as other devices out there, but it’s a great all-rounder for someone who wants a handset for playing as well as working hard.
Excerpt: BlackBerrys have always had a serious business edge and the Bold 2 9700 is no exception. Finished in black and sporting a colour-matched holster the Bold 9700 screams business and, when it comes to usability, it’s more of the same. Whereas other phones in this test try to inject graphics into every feature and function, the BlackBerry offers pure functionality.
REVIEW: OtterBox Defender Series for BlackBerry Bold 9700
19 May 2010
Excerpt: The OtterBox company has yet again come through for us and gave another Defender Series case for us to review. This time, for the BlackBerry Bold 9700. As you may know, the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is a business smartphone, and the king of it when it comes to any type of social messaging. Excerpt: With Bell releasing a number of new devices over the past week, one of the more exciting ones to hit their lineup is the BlackBerry Bold 9700. We did an unboxing of this so you can see what you can expect to get inside the box when you get yours.
Excerpt: It’s been about a year since the original RIM BlackBerry Bold made its debut, and while it remains a very solid device, it’s about time that a flashier, faster model took over the reigns. And that device would be the RIM BlackBerry Bold 9700. Not only is it T-Mobile’s first 3G BlackBerry, but its sleeker design and performance enhancements make it a valuable addition to the carrier’s lineup.
Summary: With any revision comes a list of improvements that make the device better than its predecessors, and the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is no exception. If you're happy with the Bold 9000's size, older OS, battery life, and trackball, then you may not see a need to upgrade to the Bold 9700 when it launches in November. What I will tell anyone who's willing to listen is that I do see enough of an improvement in this device to warrant an upgrade from the original model.
