internet tablet

Amber Zink, Amazon
11 March 2013
  • Summary: I bought two of these one for my little brother and one for my little sister. They are always stealing our moms phone to get online, talk on facebook and play games. These little tablets could be a little bit faster but it keeps them off of moms phone and keeps them busy! This is also a great mp3 player along with any other app that you can download. they work great!!!!

not perfect... good value

Teresa Jo Knox, Amazon
22 February 2012
  • Summary: The Archos 28 is a good value item. It isn't super for web browsing due to the size of the keypad and sensitivity or lack there of the touchscreen. It does a nice job as mp3 player and for listening to audio books. That being said if you are looking for a low price tablet for gaming and web browsing you should look elsewhere.

Don't Expect it to be a Tablet and It'll Work Just Fine

punypretzels, Amazon
2 January 2012
  • Summary: Don't buy this if you are too cheap to buy a tablet. A lot of reviews express disappointment with the browsing features on this. Really? Why do you want to browse the internet on a 3" screen?? If you're too cheap to buy an iPod touch, however, the Archos 28 may be worth your time/money. The one major detractor from this little guy is that it doesn't have enough processing power to run everything that the Android software allows it to.

Worth money, but hard to navigate

Craig, Amazon
12 May 2011
  • Summary: I bought this primarily so I could send e-mails from wifi hot spots while on vacation and I wanted an MP3 player. I did not want to spend a lot because I will buy something bigger and better later on. I do not care about applications. The battery life is pretty good. The MP3 player is great. The wifi works good. But my main problem is navigating; during scrolling I usually "select" something without wanting to.

Good for what you are getting

N. Evancik, Amazon
21 April 2011
  • Summary: I just got mine and it does what I expected from it. For under 100 dollars I did not expect as much functionality as I have gotten. It allows me to access email, Facebook and the Radio Time streaming internet radio station database through the TunedInRadio application. I have seen a lot of people complain about the device's ability to access the internet through the browser, but I have found that if I use websites designed for smaller devices "Wapedia instead of...

nice Android toy

W. Thompson, Amazon
4 December 2010
  • Summary: I bought this from Tiger Direct through Amazon. It came quickly and worked fine right out of the box. Comes with cable to charge/program from your computer and small earphones without a headband. It comes with Android 2.1, but an upgrade to Android 2.2 is available. I had a little trouble downloading the upgrade, seems like the Archos servers are very busy in the evening. I tried again in the morning, early, and it worked first try.

Archos 28 Internet Tablet _ Review

CiaoTempl..., Ciao
11 February 2012
  • Excerpt: "Archos 28 Internet Tablet As you can probably imagine, the Archos 28 Internet tablet is a greta product by Archos, especially when connected through Android. It, alone on this page has had 5 reccomends, and one not reccomend, which quite frankly I was surprised by, as this tablet offers a huge variety of capabilities from games, to internet browsing (at high speeds) and almost every other application availiable on the Android ...
  • Pros: Great portability, small and easy to handle, fast internet speed, cheap,
  • Cons: The one I had, had small memory, although, I'm certain you can get more  : )

Does exactly what I want

Forest Flower, Amazon
18 June 2011
  • Summary: I bought this for the price. I just happened to stumble upon it and thought I'd give it a go. I run my own business and therefore need to access the internet from wherever I am to deal with support calls and the like. Previously I took my laptop on holiday but now those days are past. No more lugging about expensive equipment. The first thing I did was update the firmware which updated to the latest version of Android.

Not a touch but almost half the price

R. Brivio "robinbrivio", Amazon
20 November 2010
  • Summary: I have always been a big fan of Archos despite its flaws and my annoyance with apple and the infuriating i-tunes interface and reasonable price makes it a strong alternative. As with all Archos players videos, music and pictures are simply put on the hard drive by clicking and dragging from your PC. No need to go to i-tunes and pay through the nose for a movie. My son did want a touch but I am unsure he will use it that much and he only wants it for the apps.

Als MP3-Player super Klangqualität

Kunde, Amazon
12 October 2013
  • Summary: Archos 28 haben wir als MP3-Player gekauft. Vorteil: super Klangqualität (bei Gebrauch eigener Kopfhörer), sehr gutes Handling. Nachteile: Fest eingebauter Akku, keine Speichererweiterung möglich.
