See lessThe iPhone is far from the savior of mobile phones—third-party developers are restricted to simple AJAX web apps, firmware hacks are wiped out after each update, and the fixed battery has sparked litigation. But there’s also the innovative multitouch touchscreen and sensible interface, the no-nonsense syncing and activating through iTunes, and the tough-as nails screen and case (our test iPhone remains scratchless). If you’ve waited this long, you might as well... Read more
Unfortunately, iPhone also suffers from several issues that we consider to be relatively serious: first-generation hardware problems, some snags in customer service, and its lack of a user-replaceable battery are major reasons that some users will want to wait for the second-generation iPhone, whenever Apple releases it. Comparatively minor issues—such as several less than fully streamlined applications, missing features, and small software glitches—won’t turn... Read more
The iPhone is an extremely well designed and executed product that pushes the envelope in handheld devices. It's an excellent phone, an exceptional new version of the iPod, and a brilliant web browser, plus a good mobile email machine and general organizer. The iPhone's unique approach to software shoots high above the usability of the software in competing smartphones. While the iPhone has room for improvement, it is a very impressive achievement and simply embarrasses... Read more
The bottom line: Despite some important missing features, a slow data network, and call quality that doesn't always deliver, the Apple iPhone sets a new benchmark for an integrated cell phone and MP3 player. Read more

A lot to say about this. Sure it's innovative with touchscreen and a Safari Browser built in but there isnt as much memory as there could have been (uses flash memory, not an HDD like most iPods). The recessed headset slot stops people using most headsets, too.Innovative, but in my opinion like the iPod, later iterations may reach higher expectations. Read more
At first, I was unsure about the iPhone. I believed that it was overplayed in the media and nothing much more then mere eye candy. After playing around my best friends iPhone, I had to get one of my own. The iPhone is innovative, unique, and easy to use. It is a high-end toy that offers a world of information and entertainment. A huge touchscreen display, with a user interface that really is a modern wonder. It's also a fine media player, but then so are its competitors. If you've got the cash and you love the look, then the iPhone could be your phone, but for the rest of us on a budget, you'd be advised to forget the charms of the iPhone and buy a cheaper alternative that does so much more.
