Apples’ iPhone was first revealed to the public on the WWDC in January 2007. Intense rumors had been circulating for several months about the upcoming phone from Apple. Even though Apple presented the phone the anticipating audience had to wait until mid-summer 2007 to get their hand on the device. For the US market the iPhone is tied to AT&T with different data and call plans.

Apple iPhone 3GS: released June 19th 2009. S=speed, faster processor, faster 3G (7,2mbit), faster graphics etc.
Apple iPhone 3G: released July 11th 2008

Features:

The iPhone has a large 3.5 in LCD display with 320x480 resolution and uses a multi-touch interface rather than actual buttons. There is a virtual keyboard for typing and the user interface consist of large icons for navigation. Besides being a phone it offers full internet browsing capabilities with the built in Safari browser. When launched the iPhone came in one 4GB version and one 8GB version, the 4GB version was discontinued after a few months. In February 2008 Apple also released a 16GB version of the phone with a MSRP at $499 (8GB at $399). The iPhone also features a built in e-mail client, iPod with video capabilities.

BELIEVE THE HYPE Yes, actually, the iPhone is all that. First off, it's sexy. The aluminum-and-glass build gives a nice solid feel, the 3.5-inch touchscreen and Mac OS X make operation fast and intuitive (despite the typing learning curve), and it's a breeze on the Web. The iPhone looks and feels as good as I hoped it would. It is light, thin, and most importantly, comfortable to use. The ease of use is aided greatly by an incredible screen that has a ridiculously high . Even when fully zoomed out on a Web page, I can still read some of the text. I brought a great price for 350+ tax for a reburb iphone from att; condition was great like new I would said. First I thign was unlocked my phone, it created me lots of opportunity to take advantage of this phone that default just won't. However SDK is out soon which create tons of new way to take advantage of this marvelous phone. Ok as you may already have guessed, I am very disappointed by the Iphone. So let me explain: * battery is ridiculous when faced with whatever competition. If you use it as phone only, you'll be able to talk for about 2 hours max, but forget it if you start using applications. For example don't think of using the GPS on a trip when you're not plugged in, the battery will run off and you'll never get to destination. And of course, contrarily to any kind of phone, the... This phone has changed the way I interact with technology, with telephony, with the Internet. It'll change you too. I didn't suffer with the cost too much -- by switching to AT&T it was a pretty reasonable deal. The contract is expensive, but I planned for it. I expected it. And now it's just a necessary cost to love the iPhone as much as I do! Buy one, let them take over the world... It'll be worth it. Read more
