iPhone 4S Review

pocketnow.com
31 October 2011
  • Excerpt: The iPhone 4S is part of an interesting tale. It was the device thought to come in addition to a new iPhone 5. The 4S was supposed to incrementally increase the specs found on the iPhone 4 and offer a lower price point, while the iPhone 5 would provide a huge jump in design and power. When Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S with no iPhone 5, it was clear that for at least the next ten or twelve months, it would be considered Apple’s flagship phone.

Apple iPhone 4S: Thoroughly Reviewed

AnandTech
31 October 2011
  • Conclusion: Putting out a new chassis design, whether large or small, requires a ton of resources and effort. There are up front design, tooling, prototyping and manufacturing costs that have to be recouped over the life of the product. The newer the product, the less likely Apple is to re-use its design. We saw this with the first generation iPhone and Apple TV, both of which saw completely new designs in their second incarnations.

Day 2 with the iPhone 4S and iOS5

26 October 2011
  • Excerpt: Today I woke up at 6 am. Siri woke me up actually because I was playing around yesterday and said ‘wake me up at 6 am everyday’. First thing I did tonight was disable all my morning alarms! I also decided to try out the Etisalat Easyblaze network on my iPhone 4S today. That turned out to be a great idea. The 3.75G network made Siri reply to my comments almost instantaneously. I also noticed that Siri even connects on EDGE networks.

The iPhone 4S: My first impressions

25 October 2011
  • Excerpt: I will put a disclaimer here… This might be a little biased. That’s because I’m absolutely, hopelessly in love with my iPhone 4S! I’ll just go into my first impressions of the key features. In the meantime, I am still exploring other features on the device. Despite the fact that Apple didn’t redesign the iPhone, it still stands out as a work of art. I’m a bit glad that it wasn’t redesigned, because it keeps those prying eyes off me, if you know what I mean.

Apple iPhone 4S (Sprint) Review

LAPTOP Magazine
24 October 2011
  • Summary: It looks like last year's iPhone, but the $199 iPhone 4S offers more than enough features and power to justify the cost. Thanks to Siri, Apple has made voice recognition not only useful but hip. The handset's sharper camera, smooth 1080p camcorder, and peppy dual-core processor solidify the iPhone 4S as one of Sprint's best phones. The new iOS 5 and iCloud features also are a strong draw, and could even steal Android owners away from aging handsets.

Apple iPhone 4S Review

Phone Arena
21 October 2011
  • Conclusion: After all the wait, we’re still scratching our heads in confusion as to why it took this long to release this incremental model. Obviously, we wouldn’t be all that concerned if it were released during its usual summer time frame – much like all of its ancestors before it. But considering that the threshold has been established by the competition, namely by the trove of Android smartphones like the Motorola DROID BIONIC , HTC EVO 3D , and Samsung Galaxy S II , there’s...
  • Pros: Innovative Siri personal assistant, Fast dual-core processor, Shoots amazing photos and videos, World Phone capabilities
  • Cons: Battery performance is unchanged, No 4G connectivity
