See lessThe new iPhone 3G S is finally released from Apple and we got our hands on one this morning. We've played around with it and so far we really like what we are seeing. For users of the iPhone 3G, you probably won't find any need to upgrade, but iPhone v1 or non-iPhone users will want to take a really good look at the 3G S. It offers some really nice enhancements to the iPhone line bringing it up to par with many other smartphone devices on the market. The "S" in the name... Read more
Apple enthusiasts have almost been lulled into a certain degree of complacency with iPhone releases in the past two years: each one has been accompanied by a major hardware change along with whatever software changes may have been promised. The iPhone 3GS marks the first time Apple has had a subtler upgrade in store. But with a faster processor and graphics, a digital compass and voice control, is it enough to persuade first- or second-generation iPhone buyers to invest?... Read more
The "S" in iPhone 3GS stands for speed and the device promises to be quicker in two ways: not only will a new processor enable it to load apps faster, but it will utilize an upgraded AT&T 3G network for speedier Web browsing. We expected both of these improvements, so we're not surprised that they are the new 3GS' prime selling points. We'll start with the processor: Apple doesn't provide details on the processor's capabilities, but a T-Mobile Netherlands' Web site... Read more
Whether or not to get an Apple iPhone 3GS isn’t as clear-cut as it used to be; first, and for many users foremost, is the fact that it just isn’t much of an upgrade from the 3G . If you’re a 2G owner or a new user looking to hop aboard then the decision should be easy. The other issue complicating the issue is the competition. All things considered, we like the Pre better. It may not have the app support yet, but the platform is more advanced. Symbian... Read more
Buying the iPhone 3GS for its faster 3G speeds would be a mistake, however. While it's true that the theoretical peak speed has doubled from 3.6Mbps to 7.2Mbps, real-world speeds don't change. We had the luxury of testing the new iPhone on a 7.2Mbps network with Rogers, and while data did load faster than on an iPhone 3G with the same 3.0 software, we'd attribute that gap more to the processor than the actual access speeds. It likely won't be until 2010, when the iPhone... Read more
This is my 3rd generation IPHONE. I bought the first, second, and now 3rd. I never sold a used cell phone before but the first 2 IPHONES I sold fast and for good money. So I was able to re- coop a lot of my investment. I was not going to jump in on this 3rd generation IPHONE 3GS But glad I did. I held the 2nd generation and 3GS side by side and did my own speed tests. GAME LOAD SO FAST! The Browser is like my Gateway gaming laptop with Cable internet loading. NO WAITING!... Read more
This phone is the best smartphone out there. Although there are still a few updates in the future--such as adding flashplayer--- the iphone cannot be compared to any other. It's simply the best you can get. The price is even more affordable even when the previous price was good. I keep upgrading even though iphone offers the updates on the other phones. I find as I learn about more and more uses, I need more memory! Read more
It is indeed a fast device, not super duper ultra mega fast as this review implies. Furthermore, unless you are an obsessed application opener, you may not find any difference at all, face it. I already own an iPhone and the only thing I'm still in love with is the App store... Hardware based it's a mainstream device and trending entry level, reason why Apple do not want to disclose any hardware specs. P.S. If you are an iPhone lover, check out this article to see if it... So far my experience with the iPhone has been great. Let me just say I held out a long time converting from using an old LG phone with limited features to waiting for the next generations as the product matured so I had high ... Read more
A very good American product - shame about the weaknesses. Apple needs to go back to the drawing board on the small details and listen to their customers. Read more
