Summary: Ok so I do not own this phone. But I have seen and used it seeing as my cousin has it. My cousin is one of the spoilt kids, always wanting an iPhone or android at such an early age. She's 7. She has a school disco coming up, so my aunt didn't know what to do as it ended kind of late and no one would be home at the time. So she bought her the cheapest phone possible.
Pros: Easy for kids or the elderly, Has a torch, decent battery, Radio, and more
Excerpt: The Alcatel OT-209 really is bottom of the barrel in terms of price. Cheaper than chips. Literally. You won't be fooling anyone into thinking that this is a high end piece of kit, but it may well turn out to be the best value piece of technology that you ever purchase. -- The box For a phone of this price, you really can't expect anything above or beyond. However, I was pleasantly to find that an earphone (yes, just one) was included along with a mains charger.
Pros: Bargain - basement price, superb battery life, easy to get to grips with, brilliant FM radio .
Cons: Definitely not a looker, incredibly simplistic .
Excerpt: Alcatel OT-209 Bought for - £10 Advantages - The good thing about this phone is the price as it cost me £10 brand new but you can buy it cheaper in mainly on the internet for as cheap as £3, I say over the internet because not many phone shops will have this phone in stock as they wouldn't sell many and with it being cheap they wont make much money of it so sites like eBay and Amazon are your best sources to buy it.
Pros: Cheap good for some one who only needs a phone to make calls
Cons: Out dated has no modern features what so ever
Summary: It's a Dual-Band Phone: 900/1800 GSM. So where it may work, "Anywhere in the World.", it might be worth noting, that not Everywhere in the World, supports these two Bands. Although a great majority do. I'm tempted, by the novelty of getting a Phone for 1p. (However, it would still be a bit self-indulgent.). As I'd have to spend £10 at the same time.
Summary: I just got this phone for 1p plus a £10 top up at the CPW. I can't complain at the price. I am going on holiday and to avoid the risk of losing personal details and an expensive smartphone I got this. In the event that I lose it or it's stolen while I'm away I won't really mind. The network it came with is Talkmobile although the phone is unlocked so will take any sim card out there, even foreign ones I'm told.
