Alcatel One Touch Idol Review

Phone Arena
1 July 2013
  • Conclusion: Even though the Alcatel One Touch Idol made a cameo in the Iron Man 3 movie, it isn't really a smartphone fit for a superhero. Rather, it is a mid-range phone suitable for those who need a reasonably-priced dual-SIM handset. The Idol stands out with being really light and really thin, all the while packing a screen of generous proportions.
  • Pros: Dual SIM smartphone, Thin and lightweight, Good call quality, Multiple color variants, including pink
  • Cons: Mediocre camera, Weak processor, No microSD card slot for the dual-SIM model

Alcatel One Touch Idol (Unlocked)

PC Magazine
17 May 2013
  • Conclusion: The unlocked Alcatel One Touch Idol smartphone is light and attractive, but that's not enough to make up for dated hardware and lackluster performance.
  • Pros: Light and thin. Attractive design. Good price.
  • Cons: Slow network speeds. Poor camera. Middling performance. Short battery life. Voice dialing doesn't work.

Alcatel One Touch Idol

LAPTOP Magazine
13 May 2013
  • Summary: The Alcatel One Touch Idol delivers a lightweight design and good audio quality for an unsubsidized phone at this price. We also appreciate the multiple fun color options. And while the 1-GHz dual-core MT6577 processor isn't the most powerful, the fact that this handset doesn't use a heavily skinned version of Android makes it feel snappier than some competing smartphones.
  • Pros: Lightweight design and available in multiple colors, IPS display offers wide viewing angles, Relatively clean version of Android, Excellent audio quality
  • Cons: Lacks 4G LTE support, Short battery life, Display not HD
