Excerpt: We first heard about the Acer Tempo M900 at Mobile World Congress 2009. Many were super impressed by what looked to be a strong competitor for the also freshly-announced Touch Pro2 from HTC. The design of the M900 looked sleek, the specs sounded impressive, and the huge 3.8" screen even trumped that of the Touch Pro2 in terms of size. What’s more, the device would support USA 3G bands. Though it looks good on paper, how does the M900 perform in real world testing?
Summary: On the hardware side, the
Acer Tempo M900
is a sure-fire winner. It's got all the widgets one can reasonably expect, and at a price that's surprisingly reasonable for unlocked and unbranded.
My only concern in recommending it for the feature junkies out there is that I'm not terribly confident that it would hold up.
#MWC09 LIVE: Hands-on Photoview of the new Acer M900 Windows Mobile Smartphone
28 March 2009
Excerpt: Acer has unveiled a new line of Windows Mobile smartphones during last week's Mobile World Congress which includes the Acer M900. With a full slide-out keyboard it is ideal for E-Mailing and editing documents. Preinstalled with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, Outlook Mobile E-Mail and Office Mobile (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) users will maintain efficiency on the go.
Excerpt: The Acer M900 is the third handset of the quartet announced by Acer after it took over the Glofiish brand of Windows Mobile smart phones last year and it's the chunkiest of the bunch thanks to its slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
Summary: The Acer Tempo M900 smart phone offers a good range of features and is a decent-enough performer. But its ugly, dated design falls far short of that of competitors, like HTC's Touch Pro2, and its build quality doesn't inspire confidence either
