Best standalone portable speaker phone I could find
12 March 2011
Summary: Having used this for some time, can say works well, more than sufficient volume, and long lasting battery. However, the voice calling does not work well (pressing button on the unit and saying the number).
Summary: Call recipients complain of echoing & poor reception sometimes. No dropped calls. You have to speak loudly into the mic so it has to be close, yet the speaker is so loud you want to back off. Speaker volume is set to loud or louder and it can be annoying.
Summary: I bought this for my girlfriend last Christmas and she loves it other than it being too loud. We haven't tried the FM function yet - that would probably resolve the volume issue but reduce the clarity some.
Pros: Easy to use, works well, clear sound from speaker, clear microphone pickup even with highway noise. Range is so good that it usually stays connected in the house when the car is in the garage -- have to remember to turn it off first or "the car" will answer when the phone rings.
Cons: The speaker is way too loud with the volume set as low as it will go. Deducted two eggs because it hurts my ears. Other than that it is a great product.
Summary: Have to agree with most of the others. It is great as a speakerphone, but the FM transmitter needs work. I bought it as a bulk pack and went to the Jabra site for instructions. Had difficulty actually getting my stereo tuned in to 106.9.
Summary: I fixed the reception problem with a piece of foil hidden under the device. It boosts the transmission signal and now I get plenty of stations in my area. I can't wait to try it out on the road later this week!
Pros: Does everything advertised. Very sleek design. I haven't hit a problem with my iPhone 3G yet.
Cons: There's no automatic station finder so you have to manually find a station. You have to turn on the FM mode every time you enter the car. I live in DFW and there wasn't but maybe 2 stations that came in mostly clear.
Summary: FOr the most part, the product works acceptably. We are having problems reducing the volume on the speakerphone. The volume controls on the actual unit appear not to work. Second, the vocal sound transmission is not 100%. It gets spotty at times. HOwever, it is better than the unit we had before.
