Needs Improvement

Ed Hauschild, Amazon
15 September 2008
  • Summary: I'm disappointed with my unit for two primary reasons: (1) The indicator lights are not visible during the daytime. I can't tell whether the unit is on or off ... (2) Voice dialing; it doesn't understand me and I don't understand it. I'm going to have to look for something else.

Poor design

E. Gray "psychopuck", Amazon
1 August 2008
  • Summary: The leds are very dim, so it is hard to tell when you get a call. I have to keep my phone in my pocket to know when someone is calling. When you push to answer, there is little delay before you can start talking. I've gone back to using a Moto earbud.

Couldnt hear a thing

Sean A. Mentzer, Amazon
29 July 2008
  • Summary: I tried this item, and while people could hear me just fine, the speaker on it is so weak that I had to turn my car off just to hear the other party. going to try the motorola k505 since it can use the car speakers.

User Review

Richard M., Newegg
12 July 2008
  • Summary: Don't but this worthless piece of junk, you will reget it as I did. The speakerphone works well if you only drive in the city or are at dead stop. At highway speeds the person on the other line will not be able to hear you. The mic picks up all roadnoise and transmitts it into a poor quality signal.
  • Pros: Slim design, good battery life.
  • Cons: Low speaker volume, no noise cancellation.

Not Good

Charles T., Newegg
24 June 2008
  • Summary: I wish I had read the reviews and return policy before I bought this. I travel alot and really need this to work the way I described in the "Cons" Needless to say, it doesnt. Do not buy this unless you want to put it on your desk.
  • Pros: Looks Good, Sleek, Discret Styling. It has a Great Battery Life although that is probably because I never use it (see Con's)
  • Cons: Volume makes this thing worthless. One Reviewer said that "if he had the radio down and driving real slow" thats about the only way you can hear the caller. It is worthless on the Freeway at 65mph with the Radio and A/C on.

Not Too Happy...

Michael F., Newegg
23 June 2008
  • Summary: I am surprised Jabra would introduce such a poorly engineered product. Shame.
  • Pros: Nice size, easy pairing, good looking
  • Cons: Having had any number of Jabra bluetooth products, I expected this one to be top of the line. Instead, I found the volume (critical aspect of this type of unit) was so incredibly low that, unless I've got the radio off and I'm driving slow or parked, I can't hear the caller's voice.

Jabra SP5050

CMA, Amazon
19 May 2008
  • Summary: I was disappointed in the product. After reading good reviews I found that at highway speeds, the party on the other end could not hear me. The speaker seemed OK and I could hear with volume at max. I'm trying the Motorola T505 next and hoping that will work better.

Great design, sound quality and volume is not good

Robin Good, Amazon
18 May 2008
  • Summary: Very nice looking, easy to use. However the answer button sometimes work with my Blackberry sometimes does not. Ringing volume is very low. You will not hear it with your music on. People hear me fine but I have problems hearing them. Volume is low and sound has a lot of distortions.

Can you hear me now?

Eddie Tabata, Amazon
17 May 2008
  • Summary: I just returned this product after a month of use. If the caller was using a land line I couldn't hear them very well. Even after turning up the volume. Which is another thing...there is no visual volume indicator just a beeping noise. So I couldn't tell if I was at the max volume level.

What is VPA

Russell G. Wells Jr. "rgwellsjr", Amazon
13 May 2008
  • Summary: I orderd the SP5050 with the VPA option, by mistake and it appears to be the same product as the SP5050. I've called both the seller and Jabra, and neither have any idea what VPA is, did I get ripped off?
