Yamaha CDR-HD1500

The CDR-HD1500 from Yamaha is a digital audio player/recorder featuring a high capacity hard disk drive as well as the ability to read and burn CD-R and CD-RW media. The system is available in a black or titanium (not available in all areas) color and measures approximately 17.1 x 4.5 x 16.3 inches (W x H x D) while weighing in at 18.3 pounds with the hard drive. The CDR-HD1500 ships with a wireless remote control (infrared), batteries, one video cable for the on-screen display function, two audio cables and an optical digital cable.

The player has an LCD display on the front that displays disc, album and track titles. When the Yamaha CDR-HD1500 is hooked up to a television set, the on screen display function will display the same information.

The Yamaha CDR-HD1500 features a 200 gigabyte hard drive that allows the user to save up to 999 “albums” containing up to 99 songs each. Ripping CDs on to the hard drive offers up to 10x speed and a Linear PCM recording system that retains the quality of the audio. With the player’s recording feature, the user can also record music from a variety of other sources such as LPs, tapes and radio. Recordings can then be edited (join individual tracks, make playlists, fade in/out, etc) before burning on to a CD at speeds of up to 8x on CD-Rs and 4x on CD-RWs.

The CDR-HD1500 can also be used with a personal computer via the RS-232C interface.

please can anybody contact me onmy e-mailadress walter.sintenie@hotmail.com : I've some serious questions about this Yamaha : I may want to buy one but I have doubts about CD text (does it "copy" all cd-text) and about this : can it copy ANY legaly bought cd tot the Harddisk or isthat impossible with some cd's ??? please : I don't want to hear just how good it is but my specific questions.... thanks for answering ! Walter (The Netherlands)

Walter, It does indeed copy CD text such as that found on Hybrid SACDs. I say Hybrid because it will NOT copy any other SACDs. Once copied on to the Hard Drive you can add or alter the CD text to your liking. Due to the SCMS (Serial Copy Management System) you will only be able to make ONE "digital"
