Features

The Vincent Audio C-60 is a CD player with switchable vacuum tube and solid-state output stages, and supports top-loading transport. The player has optimized mechanical and electrical isolation, and balanced XLR outputs for an optimal preamp interface. The unit comes an aluminum remote control which lets users switch between 6922EH the vacuum tubes and the precision of solid-state technology; or they can do so via a front-panel switch. It also features Philips transport for optimized 'no-bits-left-behind' data retrieval capabilities, while digital processing is provided by the 24-bit/192-kHz PCN1792 DAC's (digital audio converters) with eight-times oversampling for low jitter. The C-60's chassis construction is made from solid aluminum plates which provides the unit a stable platform to isolate the transport mechanism and signal path circuitry from vibration. The player's single-play Philips CD transport is atop-loading design with a puck-style magnetic CD stabilizer. Designed fully balanced with XLR outputs for optimal interface with preamplifiers, the C-60 supports connections such as RCA unbalanced outputs, a coaxial digital output and optical digital output. To protect the sonic character of the vacuum tube sections, the C-60 uses a 6Z4 vacuum tube rectifier for the output stage power supply voltage. The power supply, drive stage, and output stage are isolated from one another in physically separated and shielded housings, which helps to isolate each section from interference. The analog signal path is made from German-made Wima coupling capacitors that are physically isolated from the active circuitry and BB2804 operational amplifiers to keep the signal path free of external noise. The Vincent C-60 CD player is available at a suggested retail price of $4,695.
