Excerpt: I bought this to replace a 10 year old Tascam CD-RW 700 that stopped working. It was easy to hook up, everything worked straight out of the box. I am a musician and I've been converting an archive of old performance tapes to CDs and this is easier for me to use than going through my computer. I haven't used it a lot yet but so far I am happy with the unit.
Since day one quality was not good: extremely slow with bad mechanical interface

Summary: I bought this product in May 2014 and used it 3 times before stop working. Since day one quality was not good: extremely slow with bad mechanical interface. On the 4th time I tried to record and got an error information. It damaged the CD (music not data) and after that wasn't even opening the CD access, after several attempts it opened once yet at closing showed a reading message blinking (stayed forever) and nothing else: just not working.
Excerpt: This sweet little machine gives me a digital end point for mixing down 8-track and other analog recordings to CD. Being pretty old, but with excellent hearing, I have never wanted to give up the warm sound of analog. Totally digital mixes sound to me like they are coming through a rubber sheet, but maybe that's my picky eccentricity.
Pros: Easy To Control, Easy To Set Up, Fast, Good Quality Duplicates, Works Every Time
Excerpt: For less than $ you can hook this unit up to your stereo and copy all those old cassette tapes and vinyl onto CDs. That said, the drawer transport is pretty flimsy, and the drive is noisy, at least until the disc is loaded. The buttons on the front panel are big and clunky, sort of old school. Would be nice if more of the controls that are on the remote were on the panel, esp. FF and reverse. All of that would cost more $, though.
Summary: This cd recorder is a great machine. It exceeded my expectations. I really like the ease of operation and the clear instructions for it's use. I have used it several times now and I am pleased with the results. There's no guesswork with the TEAC CD-RW890. I have recommended this recorder to my friends.
Summary: It works very well and is easy to use. the only thing i don't like is every time you pause or stop a recording, you must re-set the recording levels. also it doesnt remember what input was being used the last time it WAS used. it always defers to the digital input. these are minor irritations for what the product delivers in price point and other features. if i could, i would have rated it 4 and a half stars.
Summary: Great price on a simple CD Recorder. Now I can concentrate on putting my vinyl, reel-to-reel, and cassette music on the latest way to enjoy my old music collection! Have owned a few different Teac products over the years, and they've never let me down.
Excerpt: Buy this gift for my mother and she said that it is great. The reason I bought this item was because her 5 disc Sony CD recorder had broken, and was unrepairable. She can't says thank you enough!!
