Summary: After wearing out my first trainer, I was extremely pleased with this one. They addressed some of the glitches of the first one. This one is a lot simpler to use and it reads all of my CDR's, The first one did not want to play anything that I burned. Which is a real pain in the butt.

Summary: I LOVE this little gadget! [See important note below about Tascam foot switch] When I started learning to play guitar last year, I needed all the help I could get, so when I saw this item in a guitar magazine, I decided to check it out at Amazon. It seemed like a good way to slowly learn favorite songs, beyond just putting on a CD or my MP-3 player, and then struggling to keep up with the professional musicans.
The Guitar Trainer is a great tool for learning songs!

Summary: I like the trainer because it allows me to slow down songs without losing the pitch. It also allows me to loop difficult parts so that I can really disect them as I learn them. The one disapointment and the reason for only three stars is that I wanted to use the foot pedal also so that I could start, stop and rewind parts without having to let go of the guitar.
Summary: This device is everything I expected it would be. It functions perfectly. All features work perfectly. The Tascam CD GT2 is a very versatile tool for anyone wanting to learn how to play popular songs that the big boys play on the radio. I'm still learning some of the features, but having fun learning. I have no negatives for this item. I recommend it to anyone playing guitar, noobie or pro, young or old.
Summary: This piece of equipment is extremely versatile. I use it almost every day to play backup tracks while I practice. In addition to using it as a guitar trainer, I also connect to the PA system at church using a cable with a mini stereo phone plug on one end and 2 RCA plugs on the other. It allows me to play background music during meditative services.
Summary: In addition to slowing down a tune while maintaining same key it also has a handy loop feature so you dont have to keep rewinding to locate the part you want to learn. This device is good for moderately paced songs but if you are trying to learn fast banjo rolls or fast paced guitar solos you should be aware that sound quality begins to diminish at about 75-80% speed reduction.at 40-50% the sound clarity is terrible. The song sounds like someone suddenly introduced heavy...
Summary: This is a great item; the best guitar accessory I have. Barely being a "hack" and reading very little music and having a tin ear, this trainer is a great aid in learning songs, which I have to do mostly by rote. It keeps the guitar plying lover in me alive! If you buy this, I advise you to buy the ac adapter because the trainer eats batteries very quickly. It really should be included with the trainer.
