Summary: Excellent machine, very happy with it. I really wish it had a drum machine but I understand why they took it out.. the sound quality is unreal.. I give this a 5 star rating because of its ease of use and availability of accessories.
Summary: I bought the 2488 to make cd's of my bluegrass band. So far it has worked very well. I'm still learning about the machine. The instruction's leave a little for the user to figure out on your own. Over all I am well pleased with my purchase.
Use for live recording then learn about the bells and whistles!

Summary: Because I had a recorder with CD burner it was time to upgrade so you did not need to use one button for 25 functions. While I still use the unit for live recording, it is a simple unit to use and add a track or overdub later. I will use only part of the capabilities but I know someone that also has one and they record track after track...
Summary: I decided I needed a multi track recorder to record my own CD. Found this item on Ebay and bought it because it had so many tracks (24) to record all the instruments myself and burn my own CD directly from it. It was used but like brand new and have loved it. Does even more than I expected and allowing me to live my dream.
Summary: Excellent quality, Very flexible, all-in-one studio. Plenty of tracks, and powerful editing capability. Wishes: Make all 8 inputs combination XLR/TRS (last 4 are TRS only.) A bit more gain in the mic pre-amps, especially with the TRS connections. Ability to select phantom power separately for each mic input (switch controls phantom power for all 4 XLR simultaneously) Menu system could be organized a bit better... For the price, a very powerful, flexible unit.
Pros: Easy To Use, Excellent Sound, Low Distortion, Powerful, Versatile
