Summary: This unit is so sub-standard to the CDP-M555ES which I also own. The ONLY sub-standard is NOT that this unit isn't in the Sony ES line, but rather that it simply does not have TV display for the 300 discs which it holds. This makes it so difficult to find CDs by group and genre (also does NOT group by artist like the CDP-M555ES). You have to get right up to the unit to view the 14-character (thumbs down) display for CD name, track title etc.
Summary: I bought the Sony CX355 300 CD jukebox a little over 2 years ago from amazon. It looked like a great item and the price was right, along with the free shipping. I loaded about 90 CD's in it and it was great, everything worked fine and I had all 3 programs input & running fine. However, out of the blue, a few days ago, it started skipping bad, and would not play any programs, etc. Until then, it was perfect.
"Disappointed in the desert, third time is not a charm"
15 November 2008
Pros: The eight groups are easy to set up and you can assign one or 300 to the group. This is a great feature. I have own ed several carosuel CD players in the past and they tend to have more problems than all other CD players
Cons: I am on my 3rd player in one week due to mechanical alignment probs with unit 1, then unit 2 had trouble reading disk and got lost during shuttle mode, unit 3 clatters and doesn't read several disc, maybe 4th unit will be a charm. (:-(
Summary: First unit had CD alignment errors, Second one wouldn't play lots of my CDs and would get lost in shuttle mode. Third unit has more issues playing same CDs that second unit errored on. even though CDs are in great condition.
Pros: Capacity is great and easy to use
Cons: I am on my third unit in one week, still trying to get one that works correctly and will play my CDs
