Summary: Am I really stupid or just naive? I have not hooked this up yet as my electrician says I need an amplifier in order to hear anything. I said how could they sell a CD player that won't play? He said - Oh it will play you just wont hear anything., REALLY? No one else mentioned that. Help me out here.
Summary: Sony CDPCX355 300-Disc MegaStorage CD Changer Stay away from this one. Unit worked until after the 30 day Amazon return policy and then started skipping or not loading cd's. The cd's would play fine in other players. Contacted Sony and sent it to their replacement center.
Summary: I purchased this CD Changer and then returned it after a few weeks. The CD Changer would routinely skip the first track of every CD I played. It would skip no matter how new or old the CDs were. Cleaning the CD's did not help, nor did using a CD head cleaner.
Summary: I have always preferred to buy Sony products over the years until purchasing this CD player...now I am going to steer away from. Our experience has been very negative: it does not read the first couple of songs on some Cds, it has eaten some Cds and it has been very difficult to extract the damaged...
Summary: I bought my first CD player in the late 80's. It was a Pioneer 6-disc changer. Last month, it died. As I was shopping for it's replacement, I found this Sony 300-disc changer for a little over $200 and was thrilled.
Summary: I can't belief that a cd player from such a reputable company as SONY can give somuch trouble. I bought one a year ago and two days after the warranty expired the cd stop playing. Seems that the motor mechanism was weak and it would cost as much as a new one, so i bought a new one instead from J& R...
Summary: At first we were delighted with this Sony CD player, but it was not long before we determined that it was destroying our CD collection. Fortunately, we read a review on Amazon from another customer that lost many of his CD's to the same Sony unit.
Summary: I previously had the exact same unit and have been happy with it for years. It is very convenient to have 300 CDs at your fingertips, with all the features of grouping sets of CDs, etc. I ordered a new unit through Amazon.
Summary: I purchased this unit before Christmas last year. It never worked entirely right; often, the first track on each disc would skip or be unplayable. It did not matter what sort of discs were in the machine. Both commercially sold and discs which I burned myself failed to play properly.
Summary: Great features and concept, but a lousy product. From day one, it has skipped on CDs that play without problem on any other CD player. I'd clean the offending CD and eventually have to burn a replacement CD to correct the problem. Now, about 10 months later, I'm having to junk the CX355 altogether.
