Summary: I actually prefer the 1-disc player, however, SONY apparently doesn't make those anymore. So I bought this one to replace an older SONY 5-disc CD Carousel player (because the left channel started cutting out). Both 5-disc players have the same intermittent (but critical) problems loading CDs - they sometimes cannot recognize a CD the first time (I have to re-open and re-close the tray to get it to read the CD).
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Set Up, Great Sound, Many Extra Features
Summary: I got this the other day from Amazon, it was one of their re boxed units for $39.99. Luckily I didn't pay more for this. I trust Sony so hopefully it will last for awhile. The description said minor damage to packing box...this unit is warped/bowed on the top. I am using this in a garage so I will just keep it as there are no more $39.99 ones left. Sure wish Amazon would have been truthful with their description. I did try playing one CD and it worked fine.
Summary: This player actually played my CDs very nicely at first. I teach music in a school, so I needed the ability to load several CDs in the player, and switch them around often. I was disappointed that just a few days ago, less than a month after I've been using it, it started saying "no disc" on the very same CDs that it WAS playing a week or two ago. Nothing changed on the discs, it just refuses to play them. I'm returning this for a better machine.
Summary: I have returned this unit twice to no avail. It has an irritating flaw of not recognizing/not loading a CD and skipping its place in the tray. Sometimes it plays all five CDs, sometimes only one. Not what I expected from Sony.
Summary: I purchased a 5 CD player- played it for 2 years and moved to a new house. We just got it hooked up after 3 years in cabinet. I took it in and the eye is bad an according to the repair fellow is it not a reliable part. Out of warrenty in 2 years. It now has been in the repair shop for nearly 3 months and Hk as not sent the part. Not only it is a defective part. Out of warrenty, but the customer service is louzy.

Summary: GRUNDLAGE Mein Exemplar dieses Gerätes erwarb ich 2000 für ca. 450,- DM beim Media Markt.
