Summary: My first one crapped out after a few years. It was a refurbished model and I learned it is better to buy new than what some call refurbished. It can play up to 5 or 6 cds and has many options. This one is brand new and works really good. The only bitch I might have is the size of the unit.
Summary: Overall, the Sherwood 5Disc Carousel Player is of good quality and well worth the price as discounted by Amazon.com. There are other more expensive Disc Players that have more features, but for this price it works well enough to give you a place to start if you're looking for a Multi Disc Player.
Summary: sounds good, easy to set up and operate but doesn't seem to read CD-R's. i have burned some Christmas CD's that will play in my car and bedroom system but not on the Sherwood. If you don't play CD-R's then this is ok.
Summary: I bought this item SPECIFICALLY because it said it did RANDOM SEQUENTIAL PLAY. My old Sherwood had this feature and it is VERY IMPORTANT to me. When I got it, (the second one, the first one was poorly packaged and damaged!) there was no sequential play feature and the sound quality was very tinny.
Summary: 12/09/11 Alas poor Yorick, (Sherwood cd player) you die slowly. First you refuse to play my Windows CDs, then some cds (admitedly from Estonia) and now no RANDOM play. NO, no, no you will not do this. I tried the Random all disks, it got confused, shut down.
Summary: I was hesitant to buy this unit because of the reviews stating that it wouldn't play "home burned" cd-r format cds. However, it seemed strange to me that in this day in age, a cd player wouldn't be able to play this format.
Summary: I have mutilple stereo setups throughout my house and bought this unit for one of those set ups and I had never owned anything Sherwood before. I received it good condition and sounds fine but my #1 complaint is that the discs do not sit in the pockets well at all!
Summary: I am enamoured with the old 'compoment' systems in the 60-70's and this is no exception. I found the SHERWOOD CDC5090R Carousel Multi-Disc Player to work perfectly with the stereo receiver. It matches the power outage of the receiver and for a very reasonable price gives great service.
Summary: Worked very well for the first year as a replacement unit for a Kenwood unit that worked so well for many years. The turntable began to intermittantly continue to turn when opened. It finally got so bad that I would have to turn the unit off until I could load disks by hand.
