Can timecode cd's be used to connect to a laptop?

NDX 400 USB

Hi. I recently bought two NDX 400 cd/mp3 players and when I load my SONY 2.0 flash drive in either of them I get this: " FO - SEL EMPTY" and nothing happens. I know my flash drive has music in it.
