Summary: I have owned a number of marantz products, and this one replaced a 12 yr old Marantz 5 cd disc changer. This is absolutely the *worst* CD player I have ever owned. It won't track most of my CDs, the controls are counter-intuitive, and it seems to have a mind of it's own when ordering CDs. The quality of this unit is terrible. Do not waste your money.
Summary: I bought this item considering the back up of it's brand because it has gained a respect though the years. I recently moved so I kept it in the box until today, when I installed it with a Denon AV receiver, a Oppo DVD a Cable transmitter and a LG Tv 55" joined all together to a JVG Surround Sistem.
Summary: After one hour of flawless playing, it began to skip, go silent with the timer fozen, reject whole tracks and acted very erratic. If you get a good one, that is great, but it seems like a crap shoot. MADE IN CHINA.
Summary: The player did not work properly right out of the box. It skipped during playback and locked up - stopped playing. The auto search for additional discs failed to find the discs even though the tray fill indicator showed the discs to be there. On a lesser note - the supplied analogue audio cable had a break in one of wires and was useless. Amazon.com did a great job of getting a replacement player out to me quickly and providing a return shipping label.
Summary: The size and sound of this player is fine. The mechanism is not. Ours, which we didn't use very much, stopped working twice in less than two years. Each time, the problem was that the CDs didn't stay in the slots and caused the player to stop working. And, with the player not working, it was not possible to retrieve the CDs. The first time the repair took over two weeks and was expensive.
Summary: I just received / installed this product. Firstly, the packaging was top notch, and out of the box it feels heavy (compared to some other components which feel light and flimsy). Perhaps a signal of good build quality. The finish is great with smooth curves and a plain classic panel. Set up was easy, it's plug and play. When I switched the system on, the quality was quite amazing you can hear all different sounds that are just not there via mp3!
Summary: New player worked fine for the first 14 months. Began getting an "ERR" message, disc tray would not open. Made the 100 mile round trip to nearest Marantz service center. Player was ready 3 weeks later. Worked fine for 2 weeks - then got "ERR" message. Did the round trip once again. Picked up player 2 weeks later. Played fine for a few weeks then got "ERR" message. Contacted Marantz and requested a replacement unit. 3 weeks later got a factory refurb.
Summary: I PURCHASED THIS ON AMAZON AT 15% OFF THE LIST PRICE. IT IS A HIGH END CHANGER AND IT PERFORMS AS I EXPECT FROM A HIGH END AUDIO/AVR COMPANY COMPANY! I PAIRED IT WITH MY NEW MARANTZ 5006 AVR RECEIVER AND JBL SPEAKERS ---- AND THE WORLD IS GOOD.
Summary: Hello World, As CD changers dwindle out of existence there are only a few choices nowadays. I had very high hopes for this Marantz but it is complete junk. The sound is good as "all" CD players should be in the 21st century. It takes awhile to start up and DOES NOT remember programs when turned back on. The disc tray is very cheap and clunky and only half of the 3 cds are shown when open.
Summary: This is An audiophilests dream! It has a very sleek sophisticated look to the design & easy to hook up as well. Now over all the years that i have had cd players this is the best sounding. The Cirrus Logic CS4392 Super Audio CD Grade D/A Converter makes a huge impact on the sound. Very rich warm sound & also crystal clear.
