Summary: First, let me say that I am not a DJ. I am a freelance audio engineer working corporate and professional sound reinforcement jobs. 99% of playback tracks I receive are now on some sort of digital media...iPod, laptop, etc. Once in a while, however, I'm still presented with the odd CD (generally a burned karaoke track).
Excerpt: Heeyy the Gemini CDX 1210 is just what I needed..so many great functions/features and at a great price from B&H. They couldn't be beat. Also this Gemini has it's own volume control..this is a major plus. You can't go wrong with this powerhouse from Gemini.
Summary: Not all features are available on the unit - so while standing at it to work its controls, you also have to work the remote control as not all features are on the unit itself. Need at least one more hand to successfully run the mixer, lights, and this unit. Other than that, it spins discs and does all the requisite sound bending.
Summary: This was purchased for our church's sound booth. We have been using it now for about 8 months. There are many features that we have not even used yet. It has been an excellent addition to our system.
Summary: I think its completely rediculous that it doesn't come with a power cord anymore. Yes you can get them, and I happen to have one in our tech department, but what product have you ever seen that doesn't come with a power cord. What a stupid concept. Lets sell a product that you then can't use when you get it!
Excerpt: I bought this mainly for cost and because it was a rack mount. Needed a CD/mp3 player to play drum/bass tracks to play piano along with. Can vary pitch, loop sections, some other features but mainly it was one of the cheapest rack mounts. Also, it had stereo XLR outs to route to my Mackie mixer.
