Incompatibility Issue

John Bee, Adorama
25 October 2014
  • Excerpt: As best I can tell the card reader is not compatible with the new Yosemite 10.10 Operating System for Mac.I expected plug and play, but no such luck. One has to download a Sony driver for the device, but the downloaded driver is not compatible with the Mac 10.10 OS, so the reader is useless.
  • Cons: Difficult Setup, Poor Interface

It serves the purpose

DJKinsella, Adorama
15 April 2014
  • Excerpt: The reader is well made and has nice fit and finish. There are two things that bothered me about this product. Firstly, the USB connector that connects to reader is different than all the other cables I have. Secondly and most importantly, my Mac would not recognize the device without downloading special Sony software. If Sony would have made it a standard mass storage device without requiring their software I would have ranked it higher.

Excellent Reader

Nikon man, WEX
17 April 2013
  • Summary: As the D4 uses 2 card types working together. The new Sony XQD card offers fantastic speed and burst rates,(read/write in camera) this is a must- have for me. Download speed through USB3 is super fast, and it is also backward compatible through USB2/1.
  • Pros: Durable Dock, Excellent Interface, Fast Transfer, Reliable
  • Cons: Short Cable
