stops working

Florin M., Newegg
10 August 2007
  • Summary: I bought 4 of them about one month ago, all are dead now, some developed bad contacts to the memory module, others are just not detected any more by the computers.
  • Pros: color, SDHC support
  • Cons: don't last too long

  • Summary: Newegg should pull this worthless product.
  • Pros: It was blue.
  • Cons: Worked once and failed to show life again. First negative review in 9 years of trading with the 'Egg.

Don't Buy

Farres A., Newegg
12 July 2007
  • Summary: Died after first time, not sure how. No computer even detects it now so it isn't a driver issue. Device itself died, don't recommend it.
  • Pros: Worked like a charm first time w/ 2gb micro sd card w/ adapter. Files went on fast, no problem at all.
  • Cons: Never worked again after the first time.

10 July 2007
  • Summary: Plugged it in, WinXP "found new hardware," then got an error message that I might have trouble with my new hardware... Rebooted, tried again, and the reader's little green light never came back on. Chinese quality control is getting too sloppy. I'd rather pay more for something that'll work.
  • Pros: Price
  • Cons: DOA

Buyer Beware, Short Lifespan!!!

Roger E., Newegg
7 July 2007
  • Summary: I think NewEgg needs to have the manufaturer of these do a little stress testing. Reflects badly on Newegg's Rosewill brand.
  • Pros: Great while it worked.
  • Cons: My little blue Rosewill SDHC reader died today. Plugged it into a USB port, the green LED briefly lit, then nothing. I then plugged my camera into the same USB port and WinXP found it and D/L the files. One month of life is a little too short for me. Bummer.

Died after one use

Daniel P., Newegg
3 July 2007
  • Summary: Probably shouldn't buy one if you're looking although things happen.
  • Pros: But when it worked the 1st time it worked great :-) Cheap!
  • Cons: Died after one week and one use. Too Cheap :-)

Works, but slow!

Michael B., Newegg
2 July 2007
  • Summary: If you are ordering an SDHC card and just need a cheap way to read them until you get a better reader then this works a treat. Don't use it for your day-to-day work.
  • Pros: It's cheap, and reads SDHC cards.
  • Cons: Card transfer speeds are slow, but not agonizingly so. It took me about 16 minutes to read 4 gigs of data to a local drive. Not terrible, not wonderful. I've since gotten a SanDisk reader for home and left this one in my desk at work for those times I need to read a card and I'm not at home.

Works Great

David S., Newegg
1 July 2007
  • Summary: This thing works great and is cheap! If you have a SD memory camera and are tired of cables and/or don't have the room in your bow for a multi card reader. Then this is for you.
  • Pros: Low cost, Easy to use and is usb 2.0
  • Cons: Caps are a bit loose fitting
