works great

Conrad W., Newegg
7 February 2007
  • Summary: Grab an SD card and you've got a fast and cheap USB drive. I haven't tested the speed thoroughly, but it's as fast as my desktop 6-in-1 card reader.
  • Pros: Small and fast, works well and very reasonably priced. Very portable, nice to have one on hand in the laptop bag.
  • Cons: Although small, it may be a bit tight for crowded laptop USB ports. The end caps aren't super tight so you may lose one down the road.

Don't waste your money

Anonymous, Newegg

  • Pros: None, It didn't work.
  • Cons: Didn't work at all. The USB plug is poor quality and not a standard size, you can push it in too far, and you can move it from side to side. Obviously, this makes for a very bad connection. Even tinkering with it, I couldn't get a solid connection to read a memory card. Very Disappointing.

Does what it's suppsed to do

Anthony T., Newegg
26 January 2007
  • Summary: Not a bad product for the price. The only reason why I didn't give this a 5 rating is because of the mediocre transfer speeds.
  • Pros: Super easy to use and pretty well built.
  • Cons: The cap for the SD part is very loose so keep an eye on it. Speeds could be faster too. But for the price, it does what it's supposed to do.

works with Micro SD

Anonymous, Newegg
22 January 2007
  • Summary: at first my computer wouldn't reconize my card reader or my camera (it was a windows bios/port problem) after a fresh install of ol' XP it worked fine. if you have problem where windows doesnt reconized the drive as a removable storage, you have a driver issue with windows. IT IS NOT THE DRIVE.
  • Pros: work with my micro SD card. basically putting a card reader into this card reader. Works great!
  • Cons: none

Great Buy for the Money!

Anonymous, Newegg
18 January 2007
  • Pros: USB 2.0 offers high trasfer rates, and honestly, for five bucks can you really go wrong? I recommend getting this and SD cards and never buying a flash drive again!
  • Cons: Somewhat weak construction, be gentle. I broke the plastic cover off, but it just snapped back on and still works great.

Don't Buy This Device

Anonymous, Newegg
18 January 2007
  • Summary: Don't buy this device, buy a reputable brand. Other than that, newegg still had great prices and fast shipping.
  • Pros: Inexpensive
  • Cons: The very first time I used this device it lost all the data on my SD card, which happened to be the better part of a GB of pictures. It doesn't matter how cheap this device is, don't chance losing your data.

Works great!

Ben M., Newegg
8 January 2007
  • Summary: No other thoughts.
  • Pros: Works fine! Very portable. Pop one cap off to reveal the USB, and the other end for the card. The caps can be put back on even with a card inserted. And you cant beat the Newegg price and fast shipping!
  • Cons: It swears a lot.

Cool, cheap, and terrific

Craig F., Newegg
30 December 2006
  • Summary: If you have an extra SD card laying around, this will effectively turn it into a USB flash drive. Or, just tuck this in your bag/briefcase for when you need to transfer some content from/to your handheld's SD card to/from a PC that doesn't have an SD reader already attached.
  • Pros: Smallish, lightweight, no drivers needed, compatible with FAT32 SD cards (up to 4GB)
  • Cons: None so far.
