Great multi format reader

Nathan B., Newegg
12 March 2009
  • Summary: Works fine in Fedora Linux, well built and easy to see the slots. The lettering for each card type is stamped only on the chromed metal around the sockets, and may be hard for some people to see under the wrong lighting conditions.
  • Pros: Convenient size, easy to see what goes where for the different card slots.
  • Cons: The slot for the CF could be a little deeper; I think caution would need to be exercised carrying this in a pocket or cramped pack/case because it would be very easy for something to mash the pins in this socket.

Do not buy!!!

Command I., Newegg
20 February 2009
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: CF slot is a horrible design, it’s very shallow and gives the CF card no room to slide on its rails before connecting with the pins. First use of 2 of these units produced bent or broken pins. There is no way at all to use the rails on the CF card to prepare its alignment for the pins it’s just t...

  • Pros: Works on any computer. SD/HC
  • Cons: No micro SD/HC slot, must use adapter. Can't leave empty adapter in reader, it thinks it has a card in it.

Would not recognize SD cards

Jeffrey B., Newegg
17 December 2007
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: I would recieve an I/O error message when it would try to read a SD or SDHC card. Rosewill tech support told me return it. The way the housing is made and the "feel" when you insert a card is cheap. Newegg was great...refunded the purchase price to me.
