Summary: Pyle has an excellent reputation for great sounding speakers and these are! They have a wider frequency range than woofers costing more than twice this price and can handle higher watt amps without blowing.
Summary: I bought these woofers to replace some MTX car woofers in my Kenwood home speakers as I needed 8 ohm woofers instead of 4 ohm. I blew one of them within an hour of hard use with a 100 watt receiver. They sound tight and good but the MTX will blow them in the weeds with moving much more air and volume. Amazon fired me a new one right away, I printed a postage label to send the old one back, so it didn`t cost anything for postage, was happy with the service.
Summary: I got two of these to replace some ancient beat up Pioneer woofers in a home stereo speaker setup. They sound fantastic! I'm not sure they'd have the sheer volume for a car box but for a home theater setup and especially at the price, they're perfect.
Summary: I bought this speaker to replace one in a Celestion cabinet. It states on the speaker it is 8 ohms which should be an exact match. The speaker works fine but only half the volume of the other original cabinet. So if you are buying them as replacement speakers you may have to change out both cabinets. Amazon shipping was very good.
Summary: I bought this to replace a 12" peavey woofer and I swear it allmost sounds better, I'm pushing at least 400 watts to it and it just bangs it out! I am a Hip-Hop DJ so it does get a good bit of BASS through it, especially when I'm mixing and cutting. Great product for the price, I will use them for all my future replacements. PYLE...who would have thought!!
Summary: I read just about every single review on these woofers and for the most part the reviews are good, I had a pair of Sony Speakers but they where about 20 years old and a few years ago the speaker cone just started braking in pieces, I saved the boxes which where in really good condition, I figured someday I would just get new speakers and put them in. Now 3 years later I found the Pyle PPA12 online and I went ahead and order them. Shipping was free that was a plus!
Summary: After searching the web and checking out MANY different speakers I decided to give one of these PPA12 units a try. I've installed this in my Crate BT1000, 100 watt bass combo. now this unit only boasts a a 90db output level, but it more than handles the wattage. It wasn't real loud by itself,(amp only pushing 50 watts @ 8ohms) but when I plugged my single 15" cab up, this speaker came to life! Full bass, KICKIN! You can feel it in your chest!
Summary: This woofer was described as a Professional Premium woofer, it is certainly not. The Ohm loads vary so much that it kept tripping our amps. Once we replaced these (which were intended to be replacements) with Peavey speakers, the amps ran fine and we are back in business, short 80.00 we spent on 3 Pile speakers.
Summary: The speakers sound great. I won't hesitate to buy more... but not from Amazon. I ordered these speakers on August 19th specifically to be used at an up-coming gig, and therefore only ordered speakers that were listed as "in-stock". With 3 weeks until the gig, I figured even the slowest delivery wouldn't be an issue. I was very surprized when Amazon confirmed the order stating that the may ship anytime between September 20 and October 29.
