Summary: It sounds ok. but is no competition sub by far. Kenwood makes great stereos. Buth they over rate all there amps subs and speakers. This sub cand be decently loud but the sq is just not there.I have to say that the durability of these subs suck. They tend to blow easily easpecially when you feed them a true 350 rms.Sometimes they can last awhile but ive seen pyles and sony xplods last longer that these.i would save up for a better quality woofer like...
Summary: I own 2 kenwood subs powered by a halfway decent amp phoenix digital 1200watts, in a 94 Olds Cutdog and for my first sytem i think these subs are a real bang for the bucc if you're looking for quality, ya dig.
Summary: For the price these subs are a great bargain. The RMS on these are 400 watts and I am only using 280 to push them, so I wonder how it would sound if I got a stronger amp that had a 400 RMS watt rating? Great find though, cant beat it.
Summary: I have owned 2 of these incredible subs for a little under a year. They are the only subs i have ever owned. I had them in my 1991 ford escort gt. They were powered by a Kicker ZX1000.1 Amp (1000W RMS), (2000W Peak). They were in a sealed box, and hit as hard as many systems worth well over 2 thousand. The secret: Strong connections, a good RCA wire and signal wire, a battery or capacitor to power it (in addition to your car's battery).
Summary: I bought a pair of these about two years ago and built a cab for the back of my Jeep. A little over a year ago, I totalled the Jeep. The cabinet remained intact and is now in the back of my 4Runner. They still sound great. I am contemplating building a 2x12, or maybe even a 2x15 cab for my bass guitar amp. When I finalize my plans, these speakers will be involved.
Summary: This is one of the best subwoofers I have ever heard! Of course it needs appropriate power to sound right but if it is powered well enough you wont ever want to turn it down. I have one in my car with another older 12 inch kenwood subwoofer which I am replacing with another one of these and I can clearly tell the difference between them. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone that wants quality AND something that pounds.
