Summary: Upgraded to this jl audio dual 12 box from a pair of comp vr12s. These cost twice as much but are 5× the sub. The comps would just simply not play those low bass notes. The 12w3s will make your ears hurt while playing those notes. All around best sub for the money period.
Summary: I was upgrading an old system and in the process downsizing from an Alpine Type-R 12" in a large ported box. I decided a sealed 10" sub is what I needed for my current needs. After initially trying a Kicker box and returning it, I gave this JL Audio enclosure a shot. I could not be more pleased. This 10" hits just as deep as my 12" and takes up 1/3 the space in the trunk. Sure it does not hit as hard, but it has excellent quality and it still pretty loud.
Pros: Well-built, small form factor, great sound for a 10" sub
Cons: None. It costs more than other subs, but you get what you pay for.
Summary: Fantastic product with awesome bass for an amazingly economical price. I've had much more expensive subs but these produce a much better quality bass. I have these hooked up to my Alpine PDX M-12 and it hits hard.
Summary: I ordered this sub/box combo for my truck. I wanted a 10" for the responsiveness and clean punchy base. This sub gave me that for sure, just make sure you give it the wattage that it wants. I paired it up with the Rockford 500/1D and It pounds out some sick base for a 10" i was definitely impressed. Its not going to set off car alarms in parking garages or rattle your rearview mirror off, but it gives good clean punchy bass!
Pros: -Compact, not too deep of an enclosure but still meets sub specs -looks Good, clean box and JL logo on top shows off the brand. -Good bang for your buck, seriously
Summary: Great Sub. Size factor was important and this fit the bill. I had a double 12" Sub which just filled the entire trunk, so this fit perfect. It was a little $$ but you get what you pay for. Build quality BTW is outstanding, looks great.
Summary: This is a great sub and box combo. My first JL purchase but definitely not my last. In the past I have always had 12 inch, sealed subs from Alpine or Rockford. This 10 inch sub equals the low frequencies from past subwoofers and is much more punchy and musical. I am using an Alpine MRX V70 that is rated around 350 watts at 2 ohms and it is paired with Infinity Kappa components in the front and coaxials in the back of a 2014 Mazda6.
Pros: Pounds with tight, punchy bass. Surprisingly small enclosure. Looks great.
Summary: this is my first JL sub. prior to this I was using 2 12 lanzars. Using the same old Memphis amp, I can instantly tell a difference in this ONE 10 JL. it hits the low lows, its small and compact, and to me it hits harder then the 12s ever did. YES I did have the prior subs wired correctly, and YES I realize that all the power is now bridged to 1 sub so my amp is actually getting used like it should. but needless to say, this tiny package is impressive.
Pros: Small and compact, packs a punch, hits the lows
Cons: could use a nicer grill, no black carpet option
