Summary: Upgraded from 3 12" type r to 3 alpine type x huge difference love the sound quality good product for the money. The only thing I didn't like about it is that the size around is bigger then the type r and running 3 of them in a 03 eclipse gt it's a right squeeze some modifications was required but we'll worth it.
Summary: Out performs my type r setup and honestly my buddy has two 13 inch w7s in a saturn lol maybe its the car but i believe my type xs blasting from my 2600 watt amp vs his two w7s and a 1000/1 amp is no comparrison. And ima jl fanboy always have been. But mine cost a ton less sounds cleaner and louder lol friendly competition.
Summary: The Alpine Type X is a beast of a subwoofer. I've stuck with alpine when it comes to subwoofers for awhile now because they always seem to make a great quality product whether it be the R or the X both subs are great. I've had this sub for about 5 months now and it still sounds great.
Summary: I purchased two of these subs in 2005 and pumped them hard until I totaled my 2000 Honda Accord coupe in 2010. Now they're in my storage unit and I can't wait to put them in my recently purchased 2008 Acura MDX. At 1000 watts RMS, I put an 1000 watt Alpine amp on each of them. Never had an issue with them - frequently rode around with earplugs in - got numerous comments on how deep and hard-hitting the base was - cruised parking lots and successfully set off car alarms...
Summary: Ive been in the audio business for years. When I planned on buying these, i prepared myself to buy other quality Applications, such as amp, wiring and most importantly the box. I bought a giant box and put the low pass filter at 60Hz and the rest of my speakers 75Hz and up! When i finally bought these Beasts, i was scared. Not only are they heavy and all black, but there look has a demonic presence saying " i will kill your ears" with no regret.
DANGER-This sub will destroy your ears and your car!

Summary: The ALpine Type X 12" subwoofer is very powerful unit. I recently purchased one of these well built, heavy duty subs for a 97 sentra. I paired the sub with a zues 3300 and have it pushing half power. After one day my rear speakers lay in pieces in my trunk. Now, after one month ive noticed several broken welds and sub framing fractures in my trunk. My ears pop constantly. My only regret is not getting a bigger box.
Summary: This sub is awesome. It hits very hard. In fact, it hits so hard that it knocked the four bottom screws out of my enclosure. After installing with heavier duty screws, it manages to stay in (thank goodness). So far, it has impressed everyone I know with its bass output. Very nice, clean lows.
