Summary: These subs absolutely rock for the money. I bought a pair of them for my boat last year and I am amazed at how much sound they put out and how hard they hit! I am pushing them with a JL 900/5 marine amp and they take all it can dish out. Definitely a solid choice over some much more pricey options. I have friends that has rockford fosgate system and these blow his away.
Pros: Less expensive than JL option Hit Hard Great sound
Summary: Plugged right in. Sounds way better than the Clarion Marine junk that was in there. Cheaper too. Larger magnet than the Clarions so sits deeper in the mount. Had to modify the mount to get it into the hole. Very satisfied with the sound now.
Summary: I installed this 10" sub on my boat with a clarion head unit and a 1000 watt Pile Amp. I am driving it with a 500 watt bridged circuit and the sub rocks!! It hits the bass hard and clear with out any distortion.
Summary: Alpine 10" marine Sub. I built a a mounting bracket from marine plywood using the included template and installed the sub at the front of my ski-locker. I have an old-school Alpine MRV-F505 amp driving this and a pair of the Alpine 7 inch marine speakers. This combination is embarrasingly loud when I crank it up. Excellent outdoor sound quality and can be felt even when the boat is at speed. Any doubters out there are probably using an underpowered or low quality amp.
Summary: I installed this under our front bow cushion with a dedicated 1000 watt (300 RMS) Alpine amp to it & it's outright fantastic! I've read other customers unsatisfied reviews claiming bad results but "when used with 300 watt amp"... that's like driving a rail road spike with a tack hammer. My point?? 10 inch subs (of any kind) love power & can actually be damaged by low power so don't expect too much out of it if your not willing to put appropriate power to it.
Summary: I bought this sub a year ago for my pontoon. I needed a sub that did not have to be in a box to save on space and found this one. I admit, I was not thrilled with the price at first, but I had seen some really good reviews on other websites and felt it was worth a shot. It was fairly easy to install and I have it running mono on a Sony Explode amp.
Conclusion: I installed 2 of these along with an Alpine PDX 1.600M amp in my boat. I can't believe how hard these subs hit. My system sounds amazing. Much thanks to Sonic Electronix for a great product, quick delivery, and a wonderful value. If you want to install a system on your boat, go with these subs.
Summary: I mounted this under my rear bench seat in the factory spot for a Baja 245. I had it installed with a RF P300-2 running at 300x1 @ 4 ohms and I think it blew in about 4 months. We run the stereo pretty loud most of the time and I don't think we ever got the bass out of the system that we were expecting. Don't know if that is because it was in a free air application or because of it's positioning...
