Summary: Got this sub with a Pioneer (2400watt max @1ohm) mono amp running it @800 rms @2ohm. Clean bass, very strong sub, I have it in a ported box and the bass feels solid, I loke to abuse it, this sub is top of the line, Its worth more than what its going for, just get it Wey!
Summary: Cant go wrong here. Im only running one of these off a Hifonics Zeus 1800 watt amp. Always have been a fan of Alpine products.Their performance is always exceeding my expectations. Just giving time for the Sub to break in, only had it for about 1 month with minimal hrs of play time it.

Summary: This subwoofer is great. I have yet to see its true potential because i have it under powered by 500watts rms, but yet it still has a good strong sound and the audio is very crisp and clean. This one sub does better than the two previous 12" pioneers I had put together.
Summary: After owning the previous generation of Type R, I knew this one wouldn't disappoint. From the moment it first played I knew I'd made the right decision. This thing pounds, so much so that I'm worried it might shake my car apart. I'm only running it on 600 watts rms, and it can handle 1000.
Summary: It's amazing, I love it so much, takes about a week to break it in other than that its awesome! One bad thing about it is the center already cracked from the sun hitting it but I glued it up and nothing changed.
and it sounds great. Maybe you guys should stop abusing equipment instead

Summary: I don't understand all these reviews saying the subs don't last. I've had mine running in a vented box for almost 2 years now, and it sounds great. Maybe you guys should stop abusing equipment instead.
Summary: Type r 12" wow amazing... Have two wired down to 1 ohm and they bang of course with any alpine product they can handle more then the 1000 rms stated. Take it easy until they break in and u good to go.
Summary: Got one of these in a ported box to specs running off a Kicker zx750.1 amp with the gain turned way down and this sub knocks. I'm thoroughly impressed. Only bad thing is I have to turn my HU almost all the way down when I'm in traffic or around neighborhoods because I've been told that my bass can...
