Dissapointing dont waste your money

  • Summary: I needed a 2ohm DVC capable of 1000rms. Running 1ohm stable on a Hifonics Brutus amplifier. I bought an Apline Type R figuring its Alpine should be good right? No the sub is over rated. No way it handles 1000 rms. I blew it on day 2. I switched to a Massive Audio Toro not only does it handle the rms it says it does it also captures more frequency. Dont waste your money on the Type R get a Massive audio Toro.

  • Summary: An outstanding product needed some something loud and sturdy. It exceeded our expectations.I'm not sure how it compares to others because I have not had to purchase others. This was the best deal.

could hit harder

  • Summary: Well for being a 1000 rms and 3000 max sub it does not handle power well. I had a 2500 watt amp and heard voice through it so I sold the amp and got a DC 1.2k wired to a 1ohm the amp pushes it hard and sub heats up quick. Now before I had this sub, I had a Kenwood performance and I felt it hit harder at a 600 rms and 1200 max. If I could take it back, I would.
  • Pros: Easy to use, just plug and play
  • Cons: Heats up quick and doesn't hit as hard as you think.

Another solid Alpine product

  • Summary: Running 1 Type R on a JL J21000.1. Sounds great, a big improvement over last year's model.
  • Pros: Can handle more than enough power for a medium duty system. Woofer feels very sturdy.
  • Cons: Not for the larger ported SO sub box.

A name brand product with name brand performance. Pure Excellence.

  • Summary: This is the best subwoofer I've ever owned. I've had many sets of 10s before and one other pioneer W3002D2. The Pioneer stuff is good for the price but Alpine is a whole step up from them. This sub has a beautiful sound. Balanced, steady, deep, throbbing, gosh. I don't know where I can go from here. I've flipped subs and amps for a year now and I've finally found something that I can just bump and be happy with for a long time.

  • Summary: My first amp was an alpine 500 watt which worked really good. I then wanted Moore so I go 1000/1 jl audio amp and its insane. One is all you need. I had a w6 jl 12" and this one has it beat and half the cost. Alpine pounds on.
  • Pros: Perfect hard hitting bass of any type if wired and. Paired right
  • Cons: None
