Summary: This radio works great and is the overall best simple HD receiver I could find at the time I bought it. I have many minor complaints, but overall I like it very much. 1. Turning it on and off is weird. To turn on, press the SRC (source) button. No one in my family was able to figure that out without being told. It's hard to remember because that button looks just like several others and none of them is very clearly marked.
Summary: So I bought this stereo for $90 back on October 7, 2012. It actually cost more to install it then buy it. After having it for 2 years though I've seen some pros and cons. I liked and used often: -being able to plug in my iPod via USB and listen to my music -using the "loud" feature to easily up the bass and other settings to make the sound "bump" -HD radio support I liked, but didn't use a lot: -The color changing feature.
Summary: This unit is replete with excellent features at a bargain price, and for that it should be celebrated. For a guy who's been stuck in the early 90s with a basic tape deck radio, an after-market car stereo complete with HD Digital Radio, CD, USB Drive Capability, and a 3.5mm AUX Input is like a technological dream come true. About the only feature absence you could *possibly* complain over is the lack of Bluetooth, but seriously - what's the big deal?
Summary: I always wanted a Pioneer CD player and even though I haven't use the cd the ipod ready, and interface and phenomenal, the only bad thing is that my civic player position is upside so with full sunlight I can see the display but looks gorgeous when its dark.
Summary: Easy to install. Lots of output options. I still believe Pioneer has one of the best tuners available. The HD Radio tuner (digital) brings in local digital side channels clearly. Works well for basic audio system. Been in an old Jeep (with no top most of the summer) for a few years, if it can survive that, it must be pretty durable.
Summary: I really liked this radio, but the CD player failed after only a few uses. The seller would not make the transaction right because it had been more than 30 days since I bought it. Because they listed it as "Like New" as opposed to "New", I struggled to get Pioneer to warranty it. Parts to make the repair were backordered for 3 months so they replaced it with a model 5600. Unfortunately, the 5600 has a less friendly layout and fewer features than the 4400.
Summary: I bought this refurbished/ open box ( can't remember exactly, it's been 3 months ago now ) Pioneer stereo, and it was indistinguishable from new. It was a very good deal, shipped quickly, and had all the original parts and accessories. It's still operating like new.
first and last one I ordered anything from amazon warehouse :)
