Summary: UNIT HAS GOOD SOUND AND WORKS WELL WITH IPOD. THE UNIT IS HARD TO USE WHILE DRIVING. MENUS AND SCREEN IS HARD TO READ BECAUSE OF GLARE AND NO PRESET BUTTONS. MY MAIN COMPLAINT IS THE BLUETOOTH FEATURE. I HAVE WORKED WITH KENWOOD FOR 8 MONTHS AND CAN NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. AFTER YOU REGISTER YOUR PHONE AND ESTABLISH THE BT FEATURE, IT WILL STAY CONNECTED FOR 3 DAYS OR THREE WEEKS. THEN ONE DAY YOU GET IN THE CAR, AND THE UNIT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE YOUR PHONE.
Summary: I didn't expect the iPod control would be this convenient. I use a GPS navigation app and listen to music while I drive as many does. Before this unit, I had to switch those apps all the time, it being a bit hazardous. But now, I can control Music & Pandora apps in the unit, while keeping navigation on my iPhone's screen. And also Pandora keeps playing music without ads intervention. Kenwood must be paying for it and I thought it was a bonus for us.
Summary: The controls on these new Kenwoods are MUCH more intuitive than the models I've owned in the past. Crossover setup is a breeze. Some have made comment about difficulty reading the display in the day time. I don't find this to be the case with my legal tinted windows. May be a problem in vehicles with factory solar tint only. Great product, Several of my friends have taken an interest in upgrading their receivers since playing with this new Kenwood.
Summary: This head unit by Kenwood is awesome! I do wish, as others have said, that a paper copy of the manual was included.. You'll definitely want to read the manual, this head unit has a ton of features, settings, & options. First thing I had to fix was the fact that it comes default by only playing music through the front speakers with you're connected by bluetooth. You have to change the settings to ALL.
Summary: i ordered the kdc-x896 car sterio by kenwood and wow did it make a differance in how my sterio speakers sound. it has everything i wanted in a car sterio. believe me this stereo cost at least 275 dollars here in oklahoma city, midwest and edmond oklahome. i got this jan-10-13. it took about 5 days to get it but for the price of 190 dollars you can not beat it. this thing ansewrs my phone calls and i can call out.
Summary: I've only had this stereo installed for a few days, but I'm loving it! 1) This stereo replaced an older Kenwood unit. The controls on this unit are far superior to the unit it replaced. There's a multi-function volume/scroll/select knob. There are the preset buttons across the bottom, which also serve as forward/reverse/pause buttons when in Bluetooth audio or USB mode. There is an input select button that toggles through radio/usb/bluetooth/aux/Pandora modes.
Summary: Works well, great sound quality. Pretty easy to use. Voice quality with external mic is good. Using with an Android phone. Biggest problem is when the phone first connects, the music is muted, but not paused while the phone book is re-downloaded. Some of the controls are not obvious at all. Overall, very happy with it.
Summary: I've had this radio for just over a year and the sound quality is great. The display is very colorful easy to see(but not in the sun) but that is a problem with any radio. The face plate slides to the left and right when you change channels it just gets worse after about six months. Now the radio turns on and off(looses connection all the time) I have to slide it back and forth to get the face plate to turn back on. the radio is still playing while this is happening.
