Great all-around car stereo

H. Hernandez "HH", Amazon
14 May 2009
  • Summary: I bought this unit mainly because I wanted an affordable unit with integrated bluetooth. I got that and lot, LOTS more. First of all, the bluetooth phone I own (Nokia N95) paired with this stereo in about 3 seconds, receiving and making calls through the car speakers and supplied microphone is very...

Good mix of features, but lacks RDS/PTY?!?

Mike Herbst, Amazon
16 October 2008
  • Summary: Overall, the KD-BT1 has a great mix of features. The Built-In Bluetooth works fantastically well with my Blackberry Pearl, and with the addition of the KS-PD100 iPod adaptor, I can now play music via my phone, my iPod, or via flash drive.

Decent for the price but not without problems

  • Summary: I've been using this radio now for about 9 months. I got it for about $250, and to get full Bluetooth capability and USB support at that price it's hard to complain. However, there are a few things people should be aware of before purchasing.

Bluetooth echos

S. Baker, Amazon
22 May 2008
  • Summary: This was professionally installed in my husband's Chevy Trailblazer and connected to his Verizon LG "Chocolate" phone. There is frequently an echo which is disruptive to phone conversations. He often chooses to use another cell phone and not use the bluetooth because the echo is so bad.

Great system, especailly for the price

  • Summary: The way I see it, this system is worth the price just for the radio/stereo and you get the Bluetooth for free. I bought the KD-BT1 for one of my cars and now I'm buying another one for the other car. Buying another one is the greatest endorsement I can give this radio.

Surprisingly good!

Wonko "Wonko", Amazon
1 March 2008
  • Summary: I put this in my "79 Porsche and paired it with a pair of JVC speakers and the Ipod adapter. I am impressed with the system in general. It is a little high tech for my car, but the features more than outweigh the dissonance. My overriding concern was the integrated bluetooth.

Almost works great - terrible support from JVC

David Naylor "Crewski", Amazon
28 December 2007
  • Summary: I bought the KD-BT1 from Crutchfield. I installed it myself and everything went great. I was easily able to pair it with my Samsung Juke to stream audio as well as have the phone functionality. Once I turned the radio off is when my pairing problems showed up.

An excellent receiver

Jay S, Amazon
9 October 2007
  • Summary: I am extremely happy with this stereo so far. I searched around looking at other Bluetooth-capable receivers and this one had the best features for the price, hands-down. The menu system does take some getting used to, but once you spend a little time setting it up the way you want it, you shouldn't...
