Summary: Way better than my older cassette connecter's. Much wider range of sound at a stronger level. Still had the annoying clicking sound (the one cassettes make when reversing themselves ... YOU remember right?) so a star ding. Overall I'm happy with the purchase.
A solution that perhaps a lot of the 1 Star reviews overlooked:

Summary: When I received this adapter and tried using it, I had to turn the volume all the way up on both my iPod and the vehicle stereo just to hear anything. At that point the hissing of the stereo makes it an unpleasant experience.
Summary: This product worked ok during the summer, but as soon as it started to get a bit cooler in the mornings, my car's tape player started doing the auto-reverse tango, swapping from side 1 to side 2 and back again multiple times before simply ejecting. It does not take super cold weather either.
Summary: There should be a warning before buying this product that it is not compatible with tape players with the autoreverse sides feature. It never worked in my 1999 Toyota Camry. From the moment I put it in the cassette player, it constantly changed sides until it spit the adapter back out at me.
Summary: I've tried ALL of them, kid you not, I promise you I have.. and the Sony has the best sound quality hands down. It has a solid build quality compared to others, and seems to just click into place more firmly than others. If you've used cassette adapters, you might know what I mean.
Summary: This adapter has great sound quality. I bought 2 of these and they worked great the first couple weeks. Then they started making mechanical noise. I found a solution to the problem. Get a can of silicone lubricant spray.
remember to replace your cassette adapter every few years

Summary: The sound quality of my previous Sony cassette adapter was slowly degrading over time. I couldn't tell if the adapter was at fault or my car stereo, so I replaced the less expensive component - the adapter. Sounds quality from my iPod is once again excellent.
Summary: After trying a generic tape adapter model and having it not work, I tried this Sony instead. So far, it is working well. I have a Bose cd/tape player with auto reverse and from most of the reviews I have read, many adapters have trouble with auto reverse. Not so with this Sony model.
Summary: I previously owned an RCA cassette adapter for the car a few years ago. My older brother took it with him to college and has kept it ever since. The quality was rather fuzzy so I didn't mind. I went on an 8 hour trip recently so I needed something to play my podcasts in the car.
