Summary: These speakers are outstanding. Considering the price, they're mind-bogglingly good. I had great reservations about a 4" speaker, but they play low enough to meld effectively with a factory 8" sub, and play plenty low to give the illusion of deep bass, if not the substance of it. What these do incredibly well is the midrange and highs. Vocals are stunningly accurate, strings, horns, flutes, drums are all rendered with almost-mesmerizing accuracy.
Conclusion: I have a 96 Mustang GT with worn out speakers. I wanted something that sounded very clear and powerful. I wanted something that compared to a new cars high end audio system. The speakers did that and more. They are clean and crisp, but aren't too much. The would sound great with subs, but doesn't need them. They have enough bass as it is.
Conclusion: I put a set of these into my friend's truck to replace his blown factory speakers, and they sound great for what they are. The idiot who said they had no bass is absolutely correct, these speakers have small cone area, small excursion, and don't take a lot of power. That's all perfectly natural, seeing as these are door speakers, not sub woofers. You should probably keep your ignorance to yourself next time.
Summary: I heard for many years that Rockford Fosgate was the best at the market, real true power for your car stereo system! So I decided to prove it for myself and bought the smallest 4" rear speakers, I got amazed with the quality and performance I got. Now my next set of front speakers (5.25) are gonna definitely be FOCKFORD FOSGATE!
