Conclusion: Good speakers, kit contains a conversion ring which is nice. Sound is very clear up to about 1/2 of my radio's volume then distorts. This is because I do not have an amp and not the fault of the speakers at all.
Conclusion: Just installed four of these in my 2000 Silverado. Two each per door in a fiberglass speaker pod I made using the OEM mesh speaker grill. They weren't very impressive just on the radio but It also didn't feed them any reasonable amount of power for two per channel.
Conclusion: A combination of these door speakers, Polk Audio 6'9" in the rear deck, and 2 15" MTX subs in the trunk sounds absolutly amazing. These speakers have a very very loud high end. Like if a high pitch sound plays, you risk a chance of busting your ear drums!!
Conclusion: I put these in my work van and it souds like I am in a different vehicle. The sound is much better than stock speakers, and that is running the Polks with the factory radio. I'm glad I bought the shallow mounts, because the tweeter on the regular db651 speakers would have not fit behind the factory...
