Good Sound

TWood, Crutchfield
10 June 2015
  • Summary: Installation was easy, the sound is noticeably better even without an amp, and the price wasn't too high.
  • Pros: Good full sound without having to use the fader. Comes with instructions and harness. Price (especially on sales).
  • Cons: Will need to buy slide connectors to finish the job.

Worth Every Penny

becken, Crutchfield
10 June 2015
  • Summary: I installed 4 speakers in my 2004 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle. The difference in sound is truly amazing. The highs are so much clearer and the bass is very good for a speaker this small.
  • Pros: No clearance problems.
  • Cons: Slightly smaller than original speakers. I had to open up the mounting slots and use small fender washers to mount them. Not a big deal at all.

Polk Audio db501

Omega Man, Crutchfield
10 June 2015
  • Summary: Great addition to my 93 GL1500 GoldWing. Yes the corners needed to be trimmed but that was easy. They sound great considering they are running on a 22 year old Honda stereo that never sounded that great to begin with.
  • Pros: 5" speaker that fits my GoldWing dash.
  • Cons: Is needing to trim the corners to fit my screw pattern really a con? Not for me but you decide. =/

Great Product and support

Bill, Crutchfield

  • Summary: I did not have many choices to fit my car and these were a little more $ than I planned. But I am VERY happy with how they sound. And the tech support to help me get the ones that would fit was great.

Not 5" speakers

Evan, Crutchfield
5 June 2015
  • Summary: Look carefully at the dimensions; he cone size and bolt pattern is the same as 4" speakers. In fact, the 4" JBL & Infinity "Plus One" size speakers have bigger cones than these. Additionally, the Polk bolt pattern is too small to reach the Toyota 5" speaker bolt pattern.
  • Pros: None. OEM speakers were better.
  • Cons: Not 5" speakers. Other Plus One size 4" speakers are actually bigger. Bass response was severely lacking. High frequency response was overly bright.

Beautiful Sound

Steve A., Crutchfield
6 April 2015
  • Summary: The Polk db501 speakers look and sound beautiful. They really improved the overall audio characteristics, especially by cleaning up the mid notes and reducing the "tinniness" of the stock tweeters.
  • Pros: Excellent sound, excellent looks and worth every penny
  • Cons: Not an exact fit for my Lexus LS400

Good speakers. wrong recommended size.

Alexn, Crutchfield
30 March 2015
  • Summary: The gentlemen that helped me out, only thing is that the speakers were to small and the harness that was given with it did not clip in with the OEM harness. It seemed like he was so sure and trusted the team that did the fitment test for the rear speaker size for my subaru wagon cause I asked him if...
  • Pros: Great speakers.
  • Cons: WRONG SIZE, Nice try.
