Summary: Great addition to my 93 GL1500 GoldWing. Yes the corners needed to be trimmed but that was easy. They sound great considering they are running on a 22 year old Honda stereo that never sounded that great to begin with.
Pros: 5" speaker that fits my GoldWing dash.
Cons: Is needing to trim the corners to fit my screw pattern really a con? Not for me but you decide. =/
Summary: I did not have many choices to fit my car and these were a little more $ than I planned. But I am VERY happy with how they sound. And the tech support to help me get the ones that would fit was great.
Summary: Look carefully at the dimensions; he cone size and bolt pattern is the same as 4" speakers. In fact, the 4" JBL & Infinity "Plus One" size speakers have bigger cones than these. Additionally, the Polk bolt pattern is too small to reach the Toyota 5" speaker bolt pattern.
Pros: None. OEM speakers were better.
Cons: Not 5" speakers. Other Plus One size 4" speakers are actually bigger. Bass response was severely lacking. High frequency response was overly bright.
Summary: The Polk db501 speakers look and sound beautiful. They really improved the overall audio characteristics, especially by cleaning up the mid notes and reducing the "tinniness" of the stock tweeters.
Pros: Excellent sound, excellent looks and worth every penny
Summary: The gentlemen that helped me out, only thing is that the speakers were to small and the harness that was given with it did not clip in with the OEM harness. It seemed like he was so sure and trusted the team that did the fitment test for the rear speaker size for my subaru wagon cause I asked him if...
