Big improvement over factory speakers in a 2002 Honda Civic
7 October 2013
Summary: Well, after owning my Civic for over 6 years (I'm the second owner) I finally decided to upgrade my sound system. Not sure why I waited so long, but better late than never I suppose! I bought two sets of these speakers to replace both the rear deck speakers and the front door speakers. As of writing this I have only installed the rear speakers, but they are a big improvement over the factory jobbers.
Summary: I bought these speakers on the basis that they were compatible with my vehicle and they were not. The speakers were about 1/2 too small and had a completely different mounting profile to my old ones. This is definitely a product that you have to do your homework on.
Summary: The specs suggest that these speakers should have decent bass output, but... They are just average with my stock system. You have to bump up to 6x9's for more bass response, or have these connected to better head unit/ separate amp. I installed these in the front of my 2010 Corolla. They have excellent highs and mids. I would recommend www.speaker-installation-photos.com for DIY help, and the adapters from www.Car-Speaker-Adapters.com.
Summary: I ordered the Pioneer TS-G1643R speakers, but got the more recent version, the TS-G1644R. I would've preferred the version I ordered, but that's fine... By the way, these come in a pair. The specs are misleading for this speaker in that they do not go as low or high as they claim. The frequency range is said to be 30Hz-28,000Hz, but the real range is more like 40Hz-22,000Hz based on the previous versions of this speaker.
Summary: This speakers have GREAT sound for $25 speakers. Some guy at my local audio place tried to sell a pair with the same sound for $100. What a deal I got! I can't crimp wires on my own (mainly because I've never taken the time to learn how) so I had to pay $35 to get them crimped, but no big deal. Still saved money even after installation!
Summary: I bought 2 packs of these (4 speakers total) and installed them in my 2000 VW Passat. They are great for the price and sound better than the original Monsoon ones ever did. Recommend as a replacement!
Summary: my front speaker blew so it was time to get new ones but i didnt want to spend alot of money. I had clarions in there before and i cant tell you how much better it sounds now, it was a breeze to install them, the door panel was harder to get off then installing the speakers.
Summary: Hello, I got these a while back to replace my older ones. (On subaru forester 2000, and don't listen to amazon that they don't fit, they do, front speakers are box-standard 6.5 inches). They might be quite cheap, but they do the job very well. (they sound better then most other high power speakers, crisp in all frequencies). Installation was easy (4 screws and you're done).
