  • Summary: Speakers were for my sons car. Speakers sound better than originals. Not a direct fit. Had to trim and cut open the original speaker enclosures.
  • Pros: Sounds better than the originals
  • Cons: Not a direct fit. Had to cut and trim original speaker enclosures.

Kenwood Excelon KFC-X133

  • Summary: Excellent speakers for the money. Mids are clear, the treble is not super harsh and you can get a surprising amount of low-end thump and boom out of these given the fact that they're 5" speakers. Are there better speakers out there? Of course there are. Are these great speakers for the price you'll pay? Without a doubt.
  • Pros: Great all around speaker for the money
  • Cons: None come to mind

Much better than stock

Mike, Crutchfield
19 September 2013
  • Summary: Much better than stock. I don't have a lot to say, because I don't have multiple speakers to compare them to.
  • Pros: Heavy. Clear. Dynamic.
  • Cons: Speaker Grill is flimsy and doesn't attach very secure. This would not prevent me from purchasing another pair, however.

Very Clear, Clean Sound

  • Summary: Great speakers, produce beautiful sound, it's immersive, which is what I was looking for. The highs are high, and the mids are clear. Paired with a KDC-X997 I get amazing sound from these speakers, and that's without being powered by a 4 channel amp (for now). These speakers are built very very well. I can open up the doors on my truck, put the volume up to 26 and have music playing behind the truck and you can easily hear everything in the song.
  • Pros: Sound amazing, and produce alot of sound. Built well.
  • Cons: Seems as though these speakers are made to be part of a complete system, in which I mean it's assumed your adding or already have a subwoofer.

Very nice

  • Summary: I've bought 2 pairs of these speakers to replace the factory speakers in my Accent. I am very pleased with the sound quality. I also have a Kenwood receiver. I listen to a large range of music and I hear things in the music that I didn't hear before. The sound is nice is clear and I can crank the volume pretty loud without it overpowering the speakers.
  • Pros: Great sound quality, mounted perfectly, price(when I bought them)
  • Cons: Not made for bass, get a sub.

Amazing

  • Conclusion: Demo'd JLs, MTX, Boston Acoustcs, Rockford Fosgate, and Kicker speakers in my 02 GP and by-far liked these the best. They're very "bright" and efficient and work well as a comp set paired with Rockford Fosgate T2 tweeters. These definitely play below their rated 74 hz, and in fact were clearly playing down to 45hz in factory doors if that's your thing, but I recommend them HPF'd @ 80hz.

  • Summary: I bought these to replace my front speakers on a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500, which are located in the front doors. I had prior experience taking off the door pieces to get at the speakers when I replaced a window motor. There is at least one YouTube video that shows you exactly how to do it--it is VERY simple. Switching out the factory speakers for these was VERY simple. I also replaced the receiver, so the job took me a little more than an hour. I"m a rock guy.
  • Pros: Price, Ease of Install
