Great sound!

  • Summary: These sound great in my 2003 Avalanche. A real upgrade from the factory originals. I had to tweak the placement of the tweeters but otherwise very easy to install.
  • Pros: Sound quality
  • Cons: Tweeter install location is a bit ghetto.

  • Summary: The sound quality is outstanding. With the set-up I have it sounds like a concert in the car.
  • Pros: Great sound quality. The voice from the mids is clear and conscise. The tweeters produce outstanding highs.

Poor Quality

LeviH, Crutchfield
13 January 2014
  • Summary: These speakers worked well for the first few months of having them, but then I started hearing some signs of one of them being blown while I had them hooked up the the 45W RMS that they're rated for (checked for clipping with O-Scope). The midbass from these isn't impressive at all for what I paid and the highs are almost ear-piercing. I would not get these again and I would not recommend them to anyone.
  • Pros: Fit well in a 1998 Grand Prix GTP, had to hot-glue the tweeters into the door sail (expected that with any component set I would've got). Sounded ok for a few months.
  • Cons: Poor build quality, poor sound field, rattling after less than a year on the 45W RMS specified that they can handle.

Better than stock

  • Summary: I'm no audio expert but to me these speakers sound clean with the Kenwood radio I installed at the same time. The factory speakers were blown (cranked 1812 Overture up a bit much) and I fried the front panel of the stock radio. I'm still trying to get more mid-range from them and can't pin down if it's my radio settings or the bass blockers that I installed since I also installed an 8" powered sub.
  • Pros: Clean sounding.
  • Cons: instructions could be better

Nice kit of speakers - sound great

  • Summary: Great sounding (budget) speakers. Universal installation for most applications. I was hoping these would work in my wife's 2001 Acura Integra, since it came stock with component tweeters. Despite the amount of different mounting methods, it was quite difficult to make these work, since I had to use the factory grilles (since the Kenwood bezels were too small for the hole in the door panel.
  • Pros: Universal mounting for most applications.

  • Pros: price and were somewhat easy to install..
  • Cons: not the sound i was looking for.. Bass almost non existent. mids are there but not very loud..

Sound great

  • Summary: I installed these in my 1998 Grand Prix GTP today. I could not get the tweeters to fit right so I just hooked up the original ones and they sound great. The woofers sound so much better than the original speakers (from 1998). They sound better than the 6.5" pioneers that I had installed in my 03 cavalier by far and I'm impressed with them.
  • Pros: Great sound, clear, nice looking, easy install
  • Cons: Could not get tweeters installed without drilling hole in door panel (Crutchfield said they would fit in factory location but they didn't fit)
